THE WHO Launch Endless Wire Website
Launch Radio Networks has issued the following report from Howie Edelson
THE WHO have just launched a new website premiering Endless Wire, their first new album since 1982. The new website, endlesswire.co.uk, features samples from the album's 19 new tracks, as well as information about the new bonus DVD, Live In Lyon, which features seven previously unreleased in-concert performances. The album, which will be released on October 31st, is available for pre-order through the website.
The Who frontman Roger Daltrey told us that, as always, tackling any new material rested on whether Pete Townshend had appropriate material for the band: "It all really depends on whether Pete had the material to record in the first place. And it's appeared. It was fantastic that it appeared when it did, because we're still able to do it really well. Pete's music is still a driving force in my life."
In addition to the new site showcasing the album, The Who maintain a strong web presence with Townshend's official petetownshend.co.uk, which contains links to both thewhotour.com and to his website with girlfriend Rachel Fuller, intheattic.tv, which features their collaborations with young and newer artists.
The Live In Lyon DVD included on the deluxe version of the album features'"Mike Post Theme' from the upcoming Endless Wire album, as well as such The Who classics as
'The Seeker',
'Who Are You',
'Relay',
'Greyhound Girl',
'Naked Eye',
'Won't Get Fooled Again.'
The Who will return to the States to kick off their next set of shows on November 4th at Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl.
