OZZFest 2007 - ALICE IN CHAINS A Possibility, OZZY OSBOURNE To Play 2nd Stage Again

"Sharon Osbourne was interviewed by Opie and Anthony yesterday on their syndicated radio show. She confirmed that Ozzy will be performing on the 2nd stage again next year at Ozzfest 2007. She also said that they are trying to get ALICE IN CHAINS on the bill.

Sharon also made a quick reference to a 40th Anniversary tour for BLACK SABBATH in 2008."

In related news, as previously reported, the 26th annual CMJ Music Marathon, held October 31st - November 4th at Lincoln Center and its neighboring Tower Records in New York, will present more than 100 panels and discussions featuring dozens of high-profile artists, executives, journalists, industry veterans and pop-culture icons debating the state of today’s volatile music business and its prospects for the future. One of the panels includes the OZZFest 10th Anniversary Reunion being held on November 1st.

It is described as follows:

The artists and major players of OZZFest reveal secrets of the event, disclose how and why it has impacted them and the music industry, share their favorite memories and discuss some of their OZZFest experiences that were not in the media. The moderator is Billy Graziadei, former guitarist/vocalist of BIOHAZARD/current guitarist of SUICIDE CITY.

Panelists include:

Mercedes Lander, drummer of KITTIE; Morgan Lander, lead singer of Kittie; Dez FaFara, former lead singer of COAL CHAMBER/current lead singer of DEVILDRIVER; Shaun Lopez, lead singer of THE REVOLUTION SMILE; Alan Robert, LIFE OF AGONY bassist/SPOILER NYC bassist; Ryan Tooker, lead singer of GRADE 8; and Dustin Tooker, guitarist of Grade 8.

OZZFEST - "Groundbreaking, Historic Announcement" Due Next Week

OZZY and SHARON OSBOURNE will make a "surprise groundbreaking, historic announcement about this summer's Ozzfest" at CIC 2007 (Concert Industry Consortium) on Tuesday, February 6th at 11:00 a.m. PT at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel (The Westside Room), located at 2025 Avenue Of The Stars in Century City, California. Media arrivals begin at 10:15 a.m. The event is also open to registrants of CIC.

As previously reported, this year's Ozzfest has been dubbed Freefest, as there will be no charge for tickets. Sponsors including Monster Energy Drink and Jagermeister will offset the revenue normally generated by ticket sales. Details regarding how to obtain the free tickets have not yet been revealed.

OZZFest - Ticketing Details Announced For This Summer's Ground-Breaking Extravaganza

You’ve heard about how OZZFest is boldly redefining the concert industry this year by making all the tickets to the summer’s premiere touring concert festival entirely free for fans.

Well, OZZFest fans have a number of ways to score a pair of tickets to “FreeFest” - which will rock mightily with festival’s namesake OZZY OSBOURNE andGENERATOR, NILE, AN LAMB OF GOD, HATEBREED, LORDI, BEHEMOTH, MONDO KLA, CIRCUS DIABLO, THE SHOWDOWN, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD, DAATH, CHTHONIC and IN THIS MOMENT.

Ticket codes will be distributed through sponsor websites beginning May 12th. Details on these programs are available on ozzfest.com, livenation.com, monsterenergy.com, jagermusic.com and fye.com. In the meantime, various sponsors will have offline initiatives, details of which will also be available via their respective websites.

These codes can be redeemed for tickets beginning June 12th - exactly one month before the first OZZFest 2007 show in Seattle. Fans will return to the site where they registered or www.livenation.com/ozzfest, enter their code and download two tickets to the show of their choice. Note: To ensure that everyone gets the chance for free tickets, there is a limit of two tickets per customer.

Finland’s LORDI, currently on tour as part of OZZFest 2007 (with headliners OZZY OSBOURNE, LAMB OF GOD and STATIC-X), have issued an update about the first few tour stops.

Says frontman Mr. Lordi: "So far everything's been great! The crowds seem to be in good spirits and so have we.
It's been really hot for us latex-wearing Northern Scandinavians for sure and it's only gonna get hotter... but we like it hotter than Hell!"

In separate reviews of the July 12th, 2007 kick-off show at the White River Amphitheatre in Auburn, Seattle, The Seattle Times newspaper wrote, "The majority of the crowd migrated to the main stage, where all the members of Lordi were dressed like monsters — mummies and vampires and an "alien man beast," to be specific — and engaging in an incredible kabuki-esque theater performance, set to a soundtrack befitting the throes of Hell," while the Seattle Post Intelligencer said Lordi's show was
"a set of theatrical and slightly cartoonish horror metal replete with fireworks, giant sparklers."

The band will have a CD autograph signing session after their set at the FYE booth on each tour stop during OZZFest 2007. The tour continues till the end of August. See full tour dates below.

Lordi released their album The Arockalypse on March 20th, 2007 in North America through The End Records.
