BLITZKRIEG - New Live Shots Posted

NWOBHM legends BLITZKRIEG have posted new live shots from their gig on November 11th at Rio's in Bradford, England. Check them out at this location.

As previously reported, Blitzkrieg have been added to the Play It Loud Festival in Milan, Italy on February 17th.

The festival lineup also features fellow NWOBHM band RAVEN who will headline, this will be the first time Blitzkrieg have played in Italy.

BLITZKRIEG Sign With Armageddon Music

British metal legends BLITZKRIEG have issued the following:

Armageddon Music have signed Blitzkrieg. The band is just finishing the new album called Theatre Of The Damned in the Absurd Studio in Hamburg, together with producer Schroedey. The album will be co-produced by Biff Byford (SAXON).

The band visited with Armageddon Label Manager Sabina Classen (see the picture) at the Saxon show last Thursday in Hamburg, Markethall.

Blitzkrieg is a band which helped to start how we hear metal today, and is now back with a contempary classic Blitzkrieg record with songs that will blow your mind. The new album is with a fresh sound for the year 2007, but maintains the essence of true british metal at it's absolute best. The album will be released on July 27th, 2007 and the band will also play live at Wacken Open Air 2007 on Thursday for the “A Night To Remember” show along with headliner Saxon.

"Blitzkrieg will play two shows in Ireland in July in preparation for the Wacken Open Air Festival.

Friday, July 27th sees a return to Northern Ireland and the Rosetta Bar in Belfast (support comes from FIRELAND and RABID BITCH OF THE NORTH).

Saturday, July 28th will see Blitzkrieg play their debut in Eire, the show will be a pre-Wacken party and will be at the Voodoo Lounge in Dublin."

BLITZKRIEG Ink Endorsement Deal With Dean Guitars




Dean Guitars UK TA Bill Lewington Ltd has announced its endorsement affiliation with British Metal legends BLITZKRIEG. A press release follows:

Dean Guitars has been working with top artists for more than 3 decades and co-operates with the likes of MEGADETH, TRIVIUM, MICHAEL ANGELO BATIO, THE SCORPIONS, RUSTY COOLEY and many more well-known artists.

Blitzkrieg was formed in Leicester in October 1980. Their first demo, made in November that year, secured them their first recording deal with Neat Records resulting in the famous 'Blitzkrieg'/'Buried Alive' single and a track on the Lead Weight compilation album. In 1985 the band released their single, 'Your Move' on Neat/Roadrunner. Also in 1985 a fledgling Metallica covered the song 'Blitzkrieg' on their Creeping Death EP and again years later when METALLICA again covered the Blitzkrieg track on their Live Shit box set and their 1998 album Garage Inc.

The band has gone through a few lineup changes over the 27 years they have been going but band leader Brian Ross remains at the core. With the power house of current members, Ken Johnson (guitar), Guy Laverick (Guitar), Phil Brewis (Drums) and Paul Brewis (Bass) being the bands strongest line up to date.

They have been gigging extensively throughout 2005 and 2006 and on into 2007 touring with both Saxon and Doro in the UK as well as several European festivals to much critical acclaim.

Blitzkrieg have just completed work on their latest release titled Theatre Of The Damned due for release on the 10th August through their new label Armageddon Music. Co produced by Biff Byford of Saxon, they have achieved a classic mix of all you would expect from this legendary band but with a definite modern flavour.
