FASTER PUSSYCAT To Perform At AVN After Party

FASTER PUSSYCAT featuring original members Brent Muscat (guitar), Eric Stacy (bass), and Brett Bradshaw (drums) alongside THE UNDERGROUND REBELS vocalist Kurt Frohlich, will play at the official AVN Awards after party on Saturday, January 13th at the Dive Bar in Las Vegas, Nevada.

According to a press release, this version of the band — which does not include vocalist Taime Downe — will perform "all classic tracks, no remixes, no B.S." Show starts after midnight. There will be surprise guests, porn stars and giveaways all night!

Muscat, Stacy, and Bradshaw played their first show together in 14 years on December 30, 2006 at the Dive Bar in Las Vegas. According to Stacy, the band is "doing songs from all three [Faster Pussycat] records, and playing them the way they were written and recorded."

Faster Pussycat was formed on the streets of Hollywood, California, with their name derived from Russ Meyer's movie, Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! The band was signed to Elektra Records in December 1986. They went on to record three studio albums, selling over two million records worldwide. The song 'House Of Pain' was a Top 40 single and the #1 most requested video on MTV.

The band has toured the world over with the likes of GUNS N' ROSES, KISS, MÖTLEY CRÜE, DAVID LEE ROTH, ALICE COOPER, MOTÖRHEAD, OZZY OSBOURNE, WHITESNAKE, and POISON.

FASTER PUSSYCAT - Brent Muscat Issues Open Letter To Taime Downe and Greg Steele

Earlier today, FASTER PUSSYCAT guitarist Brent Muscat issued the following "open letter" to his former FP bandmates - vocalist Taime Downe and guitarist Greg Steele:

"Dear Taime and Greg,

I will try to keep this letter brief.

I have sent both of you email and messages through MySpace inviting you both to join original members (bassist) Eric Stacy, (drummer) Brett Bradshaw and myself as Faster Pussycat to do a 20th anivesary tour one last time.

I have not received a response from either of you so I will ask you both to consider joining us. Will you??
You have an open invitation to join with us.

I want to add that yes I was very upset and hurt that neither of you contacted me when I was going through a really rough time in my life with cancer. If either of you guys had any kind of life threatening illness, I would be there for you.

I believe that both of you were a very important part of Faster Pussycat and it would be nice if someday we could all play together. I'm sure most of the fans would love it as well.

That being said Todd (Kerns, guitarist) and Kurt (Frohlich, vocals) are huge fans of both of you and are thrilled to being filling very large shoes!

If you decide that you don't won't to rejoin you are both invited to come up and jam anytime you want.
I'm sure you will be impressed with both Todd and Kurt as I am.
They are some of the best and most talented musicians I have ever played with.

I love you and wish good health to you both.

FASTER PUSSYCAT - New Interview With Original Bassist ERIC STACY Available

SleazeRoxx.com recently caught up with original FASTER PUSSYCAT bassist Eric Stacy to discuss the band's current status and clear up the confusion surrounding the existence of two acts going by the Faster Pussycat name. The following is a brief excerpt:

SR: You have reformed with Brent Muscat and Brett Bradshaw in a new version of Faster Pussycat, what led to the reformation?

ES: "Brent and I had talked like once a year for quite awhile about reforming Faster Pussycat. We'd talk about it, throw around ideas, and then boom, it would be another year later. Then same thing, he'd call me or I'd call him and we'd talk about it and nothing would happen. So, this past December when he called I told him basically, 'Brent, it's now or never, we talk all the time about this but let's either do it or stop talking about it.' This time it just felt right, especially being the 20th anniversary of the first record coming out."

SR: There seems to be some division between your version of Faster Pussycat and (original vocalist) Taime Downe's. What is your take on the whole situation?

ES: "I don't want to get into a shit throwing contest with anyone, or have any kind of war of words in the press, that's definitely not why we started back up. But in a nutshell I think to begin with Taime probably thought Faster Pussycat was him and only him and he's reacting to finding out that the band can, and will, go on without him if he chooses not to be a part of this, which he doesn't seem interested in doing in the slightest. And I'm really cool with that. I spent too many years hoping we'd do a reunion right but it doesn't seem important to him, so be it."

SR: Do you feel Taime is tarnishing the Faster Pussycat name with this industrial Goth stuff he is doing?

ES: "Very much so."

SR: Was there any effort made to get Greg Steele back for the reunion?

ES: "I wrote him some months before we started to try and bury the hatchet, let him know it's water under the bridge as far as I was concerned. But I never heard back from him."

SR: It has been stated that this 20th Anniversary tour will be the final time the band hits the road, will this be it for sure?

ES: "I guess we'll have to see how this year goes. It's very hard to say what will be, or won't be, a year from now. I will say that the guys in this band are die hard rock and rollers till the day we die. So, who knows. I know if things feel right it could be hard to just stop. But at the same time, if things aren't fun anymore, or the fans aren't showing the love anymore, then it obviously becomes easier to say goodbye. So in some respect the fans brought us back together and as long as they are making us feel wanted it makes it that much harder to hang it up."

Brent Muscat Forgoes Legal Battle Over FASTER PUSSYCAT Band Name

Guitarist Todd Kerns (recently in Brent Muscat's FASTER PUSSYCAT, has posted the following update via his MySpace page:

"Now on to the Faster Pussycat topic. It's starting to circulate over the net so let me just stick in my 2 cents.

Brent Muscat has decided to forgoe the entire headache of the legalities involved in fighting for the name Faster Pussycat. After much soul searching he decided after the European tour and the couple dates this summer that he's decided to let the other parties carry on with the name.

I respect Brent's decision. After all he's been through with Cancer he has decided that fighting for it at this juncture in his life is not worth it. He has a family and owns some houses so he's doing just fine.

Brent will explain in his own words when he's ready. We did a kick ass tour and the reviews were stellar. The Faster Pussycat that carries on from here has a lot to live up to.

I am not bummed. I was the fill in guitar guy. I got to go to Europe and do a bunch of fun stuff. It was my hope that a more thorough 'reunion' would come to fruition out of all this but I don't know about that. If The Police can reunite I think FP should try someday. It would be great for the fans.

That said, we will not be at Rocklohoma in July. A Faster Pussycat will be there just not this one. haha

Not sure what the future holds for the 5 guys in our FP but only time will tell."
