3 INCHES OF BLOOD - "We Feel Like A Bunch Of Dirt Bags Next To All Of These Goth People"

Vancouver's 3 INCHES OF BLOOD - currently on the road in support of fellow black metal behemoths CRADLE OF FILTH and Finnish glamsters The 69 EYES - are clearly the black sheep of the tour.

"We feel like a bunch of dirt bags next to all of these goth people," jokes vocalist Jamie Hooper while navigating the wilds of Vermont in a van with a broken-down heater. "We have to up the quotient of PVC and eyeliner in the band... there are certainly a lot of leather pants on this tour."

Oddballs or not, 3 Inches Of Blood have received rave reviews nightly by pummelling the audience with a raging Judas Priest-meets-Slayer attack entirely unlike 69 Eyes and their H.I.M.-inspired low-key metal. Hooper and crew are still modestly shocked by the praise though.

"People come up to us and say that they just came to see us. It's flattering to hear people say that they spent all of this money on a ticket and then leave before Cradle Of Filth, but it proves we're doing something right."

As previously reported, Fire Up The Blades will drop on June 26th via Roadrunner Records. The follow up to the band's 2004 release Advance and Vanquish, Fire Up The Blades is already being called "a thrash-fest" that features "a raging Judas Priest-meets-Slayer attack".

On the topic of both OZZFest and the band's "Off-Fest" live dates, 3 Inches Of Blood guitarist Shane Clark comments, "We're really excited to play with Lamb of God, Hatebreed and Behemoth this summer, and the idea of new faces seeing the band for free at OZZFest is interesting for sure. 3 INCHES OF BLOOD is in the midst of a crusade, otherwise known as OZZFest, spreading the gospel of heavy metal at its purest.

Thursday, August 23rd finds the band landing in Baltimore, MD for a battle of epic proportions. Before storming Rams Head Live, these brave warriors will appear at Record & Tape Traders in the village of Dundalk to greet their loyal followers and affix their signatures to their new music collection Fire Up The Blades, at 30 minutes past four o'clock in the afternoon. Come one, come all and bear witness to the glory of 3 Inches Of Blood!

Unleash the beasts, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD are ravaging cyber space with metallic cannonballs!

On October 9th the band released an exclusive digital-only 3 song EP, Trial Of Champions. The EP features the title track 'Trial Of Champions', b-side 'Key To Oblivion' and 'In The Time Of Job When Mannon Was A Yippie', a unique interpretation of the song originally performed by LUCIFER'S FRIEND. 'Key To Oblivion' is a b-side track from the recording sessions for their recent Roadrunner Records full-length release, Fire Up the Blades, produced by Joey Jordison. The digital-only EP can be found via iTunes and other online outlets.

3 Inches Of Blood are currently on tour with SHADOWS FALL and DIVINE HERESY, continuing to rally up legions of the Goatriders Horde.
