JON OLIVA'S PAIN, featuring SAVATAGE founder/frontman Jon Oliva, have issued the following update regarding their latest album, Maniacal Renderings

"AFM Records has released the new critically acclaimed record by Jon Oliva's Pain titled, Maniacal Renderings. The record is receiving amazing reviews and considered as one of the best albums of 2007 by many of Europe's biggest music/metal magazines. Four songs are available for listening on the JOP MySpace site and there are links to buy the record via-mail order

The official US release date is set for October 24th, but many online stores are carrying the three European packaging options now.

JON OLIVA'S PAIN - New Album Hits The Charts In Germany, Band Confirmed To Headline ProgPower Europe In 2007

According to AFM Records JON OLIVA'S PAIN's new album Maniacal Renderings, featuring SAVATAGE frontman Jon Oliva, entered the German charts on its first week of release at #86. It has also been on the German DJ charts, MRC30, for the last several weeks, having peaked at #10.

In other news, the label has confirmed rumours that Jon Oliva's Pain will be headlining ProgPower Europe in Baarlo, Holland on October 7th, 2007. More details are expected to be revealed soon.

As previously reported, three different versions of the new Maniacal Renderings have been issued. As well as the regular jewel case version a special limited edition tincase has been issued with the bonus track 'Only You'. The digi-pack version contains the bonus track 'Reality's Fool', which features the first two recorded works of frontman Jon Oliva's nephew, Christopher Jon Oliva. He plays the first two guitar solos in the song.

JON OLIVA’S PAIN - US Release Date Confirmed For Maniacal Renderings

Locomotive Records will release Maniacal Renderings by Jon Oliva’s Pain on November 7 in the US. Oliva, the New Yorker who originally masterminded SAVATAGE, and was/is a key component of the TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA and the widely-hailed 1993 DR. BUTCHER project, has his vocals and keyboards more in the fore than ever on these …Renderings.

The band itself - keyboardist John Zahner, guitarist Shane French, guitarist Matt LaPorte, bassist Kevin Rothney and drummer Christopher Kinder - sounds heavy, hungry and self-assured. Recorded at the Audio Lab in one of the metal capitals of the world, Tampa, Florida, mixed and mastered within the hallowed halls of Morrisound Studios last May, The Mountain King, as he is known to his fans, has finally recorded his "career-defining statement."

As previously reported, JON OLIVA'S PAIN (featuring SAVATAGE legend Jon Oliva on vocals/piano) played a special release party show for their new album, Maniacal Renderings, on November 25th in New Port Richey, Florida at Bourbon Street. The band's set list consisted of songs from both JOP albums and several Savatage classics.
