YNGWIE MALMSTEEN's Management has issued the following update:

"Since Yngwie has recently posted and sold an authentic and originally owned guitar and a bass, others have jumped on the bandwagon, offering instruments so-called 'formally owned by Yngwie.' With many luthiers making almost exact replicas and forging signatures, along with the Ferrari stickers, buyers should beware of forged/bogus listings! If it is not listed on this official website (www.yngwie.org ) or Yngwie's Official Merchandise Site, it is NOT recognized as being a real Yngwie owned instrument. True documented, formally owned Yngwie Malmsteen guitars cannot be pulled continually out of a hat because he has never sold that many, so again ... buyer beware!!"

Collectors' Choice Imprint Noble Rot To Reissue YNGWIE MALMSTEEN's Fire & Ice

There are many indie-rock, punk and metal albums that deserve reissue, but Collectors' Choice didn't feel it was right to put them on it's main imprint. So, for the first time in it's long history of licensing and releasing reissues, Collectors' Choice has launched a new label, which they've assigned the curious name of Noble Rot.

The first releases under the Noble Rot banner are reissues by GRANT LEE BUFFALO, ROBYN HITCHCOCK, HUNTERS & COLLECTORS and YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, all with snazzy digipak packaging.

Street date for the initial rollout of six CDs is set for June 26th, 2007.

Yngwie Malmsteen - Fire & Ice: By the time he released Fire & Ice in 1991, Yngwie Malmsteen was established as one of heavy metal's reigning guitar gods, and was considered by many to be the most technically accomplished axmen in hard rock. YNGWIE MALMSTEEN - Black Ferrari Sells For Over $25,000 US

After owning his black Ferrari for nearly 18 years, guitarist YNGWIE MALMSTEEN recently put the car up for auction on eBay. The winning bid on the car was $25,100 US.

The history of the automobile is as follows: in 1989 Yngwie was in the process of recording the Eclipse album when he saw this Ferrari in the showroom of Prestige Imports in North Miami Beach, Florida. With only 23,000 miles on the clock Yngwie had to have it, so he walked in, paid cash and drove it out. The vehicle has been garage kept and has received service and maintenance through world recognized Ferrari ace Tim Stanford FNA certified and of Tim Stanford Foreign Cars inc.of Fort Lauderdale Florida, servicing Ferrari's since 1967.

Here's YNGWIE MALMSTEEN's latest Strat eBay auction:

"Natural finish Fender Stratocaster Guitar, This guitar is an extremely early 1970's model with a scalloped maple neck, The neck is a three bolt neck, not converted over to the four bolt neck as are most of Yngwie's current guitars.The instrument has Yngwie's old school mods as the pickups in the bridge and neck are HS-3's Dimarzio's and a stock vintage Fender Strat pick up in the middle. The pick up screws are countersunk and the tremolo block is one piece diecast (early/rare) Yngwie personally has owned and played this instrument in the studio and in concerts throughout the world and there are many photos in publications around showing him playing this instrument. One of the photos in this listing shows a young Yngwie pointing skywards in front of his Marshall stacks, this photo of Yngwie playing the listed instrument was taken in 1983 during the ALCATRAZZ era. The photograph of Yngwie in the leather jacket was taken of him playing the listed instrument on June 30, 1984 at The Pier in New York City on his twenty- first birthday.

This instrument is is like all the instruments that Yngwie owns, a balls to the wall rip snorting instrument of mass destruction! The few minor battle scars are all evidence of previous wars! It is a used instrument in good condition and it plays well (set up to Yngwie's specs). I am not a guitar expert but will try to answer your questions if you ask them early. Please limit them to the listed instrument as I will have to ask Yngwie if I do not know. Please look carefully as the instrument is beautiful natural wood finish in very good condition, it is a Malm driven machine and it is what it is and what you see. I can ask him to autograph it if you wish. It will come with an Yngwie signed letter of authenticity and a photo of him signing this letter. The starting bid is very low and the instrument may be sold locally as there are several music stores and collectors that have expressed great interest, along with a well known restaurant chain. It is because of this that I am reserving the right to end this auction early.

This guitar, per The Malm, is the brother of The Duck, they were the main two staples of Yngwie's guitars. Yngwie bought this guitar in Sweden at the "Music Borsen" pre his U.S. days in 1978. Yngwie had originally scalloped the neck personally, then later had Larry Lashbrook his personal luthier re-scallop it again and refrett with Dunlop jumbos. This guitar was the one that Yngwie used in the original demo tape recording of 'Black Star' that was sent to Mike Varney of Guitar Player magazine in late 1981. This demo tape when heard is what resulted in Yngwie coming to the U.S. and the guitar listed was used extensively as his main axe along with The Duck during the Alcatrazz and the early RISING FORCE days."

YNGWIE MALMSTEEN - Early Catalog To Be Reissued As Mini Sleeves In Japan This Fall

Polydor Japan is reissuing the first six albums from YNGWIE MALMSTEEN as remastered, limited edition paper sleeves on October 24th. The legendary titles are as follows: 1984's Rising Force, 1985's Marching Out, 1986's Trilogy, 1988's Odyssey, 1989's Trial By Fire: Live in Leningrad and 1990's Eclipse.

Malmsteen is currently working on the follow-up to 2005's Unleash The Fury
