MOUNTAIN, IRON BUTTERFLY Among Acts On Board For 21-Date "Hippiefest" Tour

Hippiefest kicks off it's second summer tour on July 25th in Toronto. The multi-act concert will feature a rotating cast of legends performing at the various dates throughout the tour, including THE TURTLES featuring Flo and Eddie, Felix Cavaliere's RASCALS, THE ZOMBIES featuring Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent, MOODY BLUES and WINGS co-founder DENNY LAINE, Joey Molland's BADFINGER, MITCH RYDER, MOUNTAIN, COUNTRY JOE MCDONALD, IRON BUTTERFLY and MELANIE.
Felix Cavaliere says that when he and the Rascals were coming up, it was the material that would make or break an act: "When you're a creative artist, you want to create. And obviously when you're trying to sell product, the most important thing, and this is the reason I moved to Nashville, are the songs. At least that's the way I was brought up in the business. It's not the case to today for the current artists, because the most important today is their look and their marketing. In our day the song was the thing."
