| MOTÖRHEAD's Lemmy: "I Always Had To Laugh About That Silly Black Metal" www.KISS Kollector. Online reports: "In an interview - titled "MOTÖRHEAD Is Kick Ass Rock 'N' Roll" - that will appear in a newspaper in Holland tomorrow, Motörhead frontman Lemmy for some reason confuses KISS with black metal satan worshippers. Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant will have a special on the Lowlands festival in tomorrow's edition, and in the cover story, Lemmy is quoted (in Dutch, but we've translated the piece in English) as saying: "I always had to laugh about that silly black metal. Them guys with their painted faces. Ever since KISS, I've found it ridiculous. One of those KISS dudes was made up as a fuckin' pussycat. How childish, and still they were always talking about Satan. But there was no danger in KISS whatsoever. And yet they became the example for all those new Satan worshippers." (We can only guess the Dutch interviewer misunderstood Lemmy and has not accurately translated his quotes into Dutch for the article - or would someone like Lemmy really confuse KISS for Satan worshippers who are examples for death metal bands..?)" | |
