RISE TO ADDICTION Confirmed For Lithuania's Rock Nights Festival, Writing For New Album BW&BK has received the following press release:
UK rockers
RISE TO ADDICTION have been confirmed for this years Rock Nights Festival (
www.rocknights.lt) which is set to take place on August 1st and 2nd in Zarasai, Lithuania. Rise To Addiction will perform on the 1st August. Other acts appearing at the festival include
PARADISE LOST and
VOLBEAT. The band will be taking a break from writing and pre-production on the follow up to last years debut album A New Shade Of Black For The Soul.
Work has been in progress since the start of the year with 14 songs at various stages of completion. These will be trimmed down to 10 songs for the release which is expected later this year. Song titles revealed so far include 'The Whisper', 'Scars We Wear' and 'Numb'.
Commenting on the writing and pre-production vocalist Leigh Oates said "The whole bands really excited about the songs. We think they build on the work we did with 'A New Shade…' and take the best elements of RTA and push em further. I've currently got most of the melodies written for the songs and have been writing lyrics as we've gone along. So far writing these songs has been a real cathartic experience and I want the lyrics to really reflect that."
A New Shade Of Black For The Soul was released through Mausoleum Records. The Andy Sneap (
TRIVIUM, MEGADETH, etc) mixed recording was enthusiastically received by fans and media, rating highly at US radio where it was the #3 most added album to play lists on the CMJ Loud Rock report and #5 most added on the FMQB Pure Spin reports.
Rise To Addiction made it's European touring debut in 2007 as special guests to legendary Chicago band
TROUBLE. Further high profile dates followed with US band
WARRIOR SOUL as well as festival appearances at the UK Bloodstock Festival and the Motonalet Festival in the Czech Republic, where the band performed to 6,000 people.
