Late THIN LIZZY Frontman PHIL LYNOTT's Mother Predicts "Bright Future" For STONE CROW

Kilkenny Advertiser has issued the following report:

Derry band STONE CROW hit Kilkenny's Zoo Bar on Thursday (July 26th) for one night alongside fellow rockers ARCANE. The band have been praised by PHIL LYNOTT's Mother, Philomena, at a recent memorial show for THIN LIZZY and they are expecting to make a big impact on Kilkenny.

Since they began, Stone Crow have gone from strength to strength; from 'loud' to 'up te the lash!' At first listen, the healthy blend of, balls-to-the-wall, Rock Agus Roll, heavy groove-laden riffs will stop you dead in your tracks and demand your head bang or your feet stomp along!

From the opening vocal melody, you can tell, they are a hard-rockin band, that are not compromised, as so many are, with sub-par singing! Every member of the band brings their own unique style and extensive musical background to the mix, each quietly confident and wholly competent in instrumental assault!

With intricate embellished riffs, twin harmony leads, thunderous, intricate bass lines, pounding, invigorating drum beats, squealing, diving, singing, blistering lead fills and to put the icing on the cake a voice that'll send shivers down your back til you’re trembling on the floor, this is a band that’s rockin hard, enjoying what they’re doing and who won’t be stopped!

Pushing the limits of every venue, every amp, every drum-kit that’s big enough to stand on, covering every inch of ground and caressing you in their hypnotic grasp, Stone Crow won’t stop ‘til the last patrons satisfied!

Recently, at a tribute to Phil Lynott in Dungiven's Gaelic Club with The Wild 1's, the legendary rockers' own mother, Philomena, voiced her appreciation for the band's original material and said they had a bright future ahead of them, and that "they'll put Dungiven on the map."

See what all the fuss is about on Thursday at 9 PM in The Zoo Bar, 40 Parliament Street.

PHIL LYNOTT's Guitar Disappears In Wax Museum Raid In Ireland!

According to the Associated Press, Josef Stalin, Adolf Hitler and Franklin D. Roosevelt got stripped naked, and Fred Flintstone and the Teletubbies are missing after a raid on wax figures owned by Ireland’s National Wax Museum.

At least 50 figures were stolen or wrecked several weeks ago, the museum reported yesterday. The wax museum, closed since 2005, has been storing its 400 figures in a warehouse while it works to reopen this fall.

Police say they suspect the warehouse was used for an all-night rave party. Also stripped were Winston Churchill, Charles de Gaulle and rebel icons from Ireland’s war of independence with Britain, including Michael Collins and Padraig Pearse. Gone are Bob the Builder, Frankenstein’s monster, Gollum from “Lord of the Rings” and Hannibal Lecter.

Guitars adorning the figures of U2’s The Edge and THIN LIZZY frontman Phil Lynott also disappeared. ELVIS and MADONNA lost hair, limbs or jewelry.

The museum was razed for a hotel in 2005. Museum manager Kay Murray said she expects to announce a new location next month but said she doesn’t know where $1.4 million to fix the damage will come from. Some items - such as authentic rebel uniforms - are irreplaceable.

Charity Event In Honor Of Late THIN LIZZY Frontman PHIL LYNOTT To Feature Appearance From Former VENOM Frontman

"The Boys Are Back In Bolton (www.theboysarebackinbolton.com ) is a charity event which celebrates the life and music of rock legend PHILIP LYNOTT.

The event has the blessing of Philip's mother, Philomena Lynott, who will be opening the night's festivities with a specially recorded video message. All profits from the gig will go to Philomena's charity, The Roisin Dubh Trust, which is hoping to set up a Philip Lynott Music Scholarship to benefit underpriveliged young people.

The gig will feature top Thin Lizzy tribute band TIZZ LIZZY from Belfast who have wowed audiences at similar events in Scotland and Ireland, along with Bolton rockers THE TEMPLE DOGS, SEE RED & ACOUSTIC LIZZY. See Red's set will feature a guest appearance from ATOMKRAFT / ex-VENOM frontman (and star of Master And Commander) Tony "Demolition" Dolan.

Tizz Lizzy will perform the classic hits, and the other bands will be playing gems from Thin Lizzy's albums and Philip's solo albums alongside their own songs.

Mark Saturday, September 22nd in your diary now and join us at Bolton's premier rock venue, The Soundhouse, for a night to remember!"

PHIL LYNOTT's Mum Attends Tribute Concert

THIN LIZZY( PHIL LYNOTT ) 78310

The following report is courtesy of Mark Foster from The Northern Echo:

The mother of tragic singer-songwriter Phil Lynott dropped in on the region for the weekend - and had a rockin' good time.

Philomena Lynott journeyed to Richmond from her Dublin home to attend a tribute concert to her son, the front-man of legendary band THIN LIZZY, who died 21 years ago.

And her verdict on the show by Irish rockers Glider was one of complete approval: "It was fantastic. Everybody was up and dancing. All I can say is that Richmond rocked."

Mrs. Lynott, 76, was the special guest of Thin Lizzy fans John Russell and Keith Barker who both live in Richmond and organised the concert at Richmondshire Cricket Club.

The event was a complete sell-out with more than 200 tickets sold. "If we'd had space we'd have been able to sell twice that many," said John.

While visiting the town Mrs Lynott was also taken to the local golf club, where a plaque has been erected dedicating the eight hole to her son.

"It was very cold - but it was lovely to see my son remembered in such a way," she said.

Phil Lynott was just 36 when he died in January 1987, 11 days after collapsing from a Christmas Day drink and drugs binge.

His mother now promotes anti-drugs work and John and Keith met her two years ago when they visited Dublin for the unveiling of a statue of their music hero.

The tribute concert was held in aid of drugs charities and was such a success that it is now expected to become an annual event.
