MAGO DE OZ - A Costa Da Morte Live CD To Be Released In North America
Locomotive Records will release A Costa Da Morte on November 20, a double-live Rock En Espanol CD covering all career aspects of Spain’s MAGO DE OZ.
Mago De Oz was formed in 1989 Madrid by drummer Txus who recruited violinist Mohamed, guitarist Carlitos, guitarist Chema, bassist Salva and vocalist Juanma. The group stayed solvent through 1996 when Frank, Sergio and Jose replaced Chema, Salva and Juanma. There have been no other lineup changes.
According to a press release, "the band’s success is, in part, due to its mixing and matching of hard rock and heavy metal with strains of Celtic, euro-folk and even medieval music. The resulting pastiche is evocative of bands like KANSAS, SKYCLAD, IRON MAIDEN and BLACKMORE’S NIGHT."
