DEVIL'S SON-IN-LAW - New Audio Interview






A five and a half minute segment from a recent interview on San Francisco's Pirate Cat Radio 87.9 FM with John and Marwan from the sludge/stoner metal act DEVIL'S SON-IN-LAW has been made available at this location.

Earlier this month the band finished shooting segments for their upcoming 'Seaworthy' video with director Gary Smithson (HIGH ON FIRE, EAGLES OF DEATH METAL, EYES OF FIRE, GOATWHORE, EXODUS, TOMAHAWK). The video shoot took place on Sunday October 7 in Los Angeles, California and the final product is expected for an early 2008 release.

Beginning as an instrumental project between childhood friends from Detroit, Michigan, the band later relocated to Oakland, California before assuming the name (taken from the Rudy Ray Moore film Peetey Wheatstraw) Devil's Son-In-law in 2005. Although heavily influenced by bands like SLEEP, NEUROSIS, EYEHATEGOD, and ASUNDER, their style is also heavily drawn from blues slide guitar and early psychedelic rock. Many of their early pieces were improvisational and experimental, but would be the essence of today's sound.
