EDENBRIDGE Says MyEarthDream Will Be "Heaviest, Most Symphonic" In Band's HistoryAustrian metallers
EDENBRIDGE have begun with the production of their sixth studio album, MyEarthDream, due out next April via Napalm Records.
The band have issued the following update:
"We are currently in the midst of the production of our new album MyEarthDream, which will see a worldwide release in April 2008 by Napalm Records.
The album is gonna be the heaviest and most symphonic one in our history. We are working with 7-string guitars for the first time which are detuned to Bb. This adds a lot of extra power to the music and is blending so well with the orchestra arrangements.
On September 19th,
THRESHOLD mastermind and Thin Ice Studio owner Karl Groom came over from England to Vienna to Wild One Studios where Sebastian hammered in his drum-takes in only 2 days. Respect!
The production continued in Farpoint Station studios where all rhythm guitars were recorded in 6 days. Every song consists of 4 rhythm guitar tracks at least (sometimes up to 7), so this takes a bit of time as you can imagine.
On October 12th a dream realised. For the first time we worked with a real orchestra, the Czech Film Orchestra consisting of musicians from the Prague Philharmony Orchestra and the Czech State Opera Orchestra. They also recorded music for some Hollywood productions in the past, e.g. The Illusionist. In Studio A of the Czech Television all parts were recorded in about 9 hours and it was about 40 minutes of orchestra music. Great musicians!
Soon afterwards Lanvall was again guest of Robby Valentine in his studio in the Netherlands with whom he produced choirs and backing vocals up to 48 vocals tracks per song. Dennis Ward (PINK CREAM 69) has also finished his backing vocals and choirs, which he recorded in his The TrakShak studio in Germany, brilliantly as ever.
You'll find some photos of the recording process on
www.edenbridge.org Next week Sabine is starting to record her vocals and Frank is gonna be in studio in late November to do basses.
On December 10th we will fly to London to do the photo shoot with British star photographer Steve Brown. Steve has also worked for bands like
BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, LACUNA COIL and
DIMMU BORGIR.
In March 2008 our European tour with Rage starts and we are happy to present you a lot of new songs from our upcoming album on over 30 shows."
