| METALIUM Rapid drums, screaming guitars, a cutting bass storm and hymnical vocals – This is the dynamic world of the Hamburg based band M ETALIUM. Now for six years, the group, formed around the singer Henning Basse haven’t missed their target of setting the Heavy Metal world on fire. The fifth album “Demons Of Insanity – chapter five” will also undoubtedly hit the spot and leave no questions open – as tight as ever. They’ve achieved this with their known style so METALIUM find themselves not only technically but also compositionally at the top of the German Power Metal scene. Even though the band has it’s own unmistakeable style, the METALIUM sound in the last few years has undergone a metamorphosis. The reason for this is the unchanged formation of Henning Basse, Guitarist Matthias Lange, Bassist Lars Ratz and drummer Michael Ehré since 3 productions in a row. This has paid off because all four musicians are not only technically gifted but are also gifted songwriters. The straight, flowing Heavy Metal from the first two releases have evolved and taken in more atmosphere and become more progressive. This gives the METALIUM style an extra kick. Alongside the up tempo songs, ´Power Of Time` or ´Cyber Horizon` the new album, “Demons Of Insanity – chapter five” shines with epic tracks like ´Endless Believer` and ´Destiny`, which are giving the work unlimited depth. The technical side of the production is also the result of good team work, using the base of a stable set of musicians who have worked together for a long time. The album is written by all the band members, produced by Lars Ratz and co-produced by Michael Ehré and Matthias Lange in Hamburg (Blue Noise- and Tornado- Studios) and on Mallorca (´Jumpower Studios`). METALIUM have again been able on “Demons Of Insanity – chapter five” as with the predecessors „Hero Nation – chapter three“ and „As One – chapter four“ to recruit the Deep Purple-keyboardist Don Airey who is best known for his keyboard work with Whitesnake, Rainbow or Ozzy Osbourne and has played on cult metal productions such as Judas Priest’s „Painkiller“ or Black Sabbath’s „Never say die“. Never change a winning team ! The theme of this METALIUM production “Demons Of Insanity – chapter five” concentrates for the first time on critical social issues such as the cloning of human or the destruction of natural resources for pure profit and the fatal ignorance shown by these people towards the power of mother earth. The album disguises it’s serious message with metaphors and is completed through the two figureheads, Metalian and Metaliana on the cover and the narrator correctly warns: „Don´t you dare to rewrite genesis … or you will become a demon of insanity.“ With this and the fact that the songs are of a high quality, the METALIUM fan will have no problem diving deep into the “Demons Of Insanity-hemisphere”. METALIUM were formed at the end of the nineties by the ex Zed Yago / Velvet Viper bassist Lars Ratz, frontman Henning Basse and the Hamburger Guitarist Matthias Lange. The debut album Millennium Metal (1999), where Chris Caffery (Savatage) plus Mike Terrana (a.o. Malmsteen, Rage, Axel Rudi Pell) could also be heard, received the highest ever ´Media Control` entry from a German Heavy Metal-Debut album and harvested positive reviews not only nationally, but especially from abroad. This was followed with a tour through Europe and appearances at the top festivals for the genre. In the following year, rhythm guitar was taken over by Jack Frost and the drums by Mark Cross to play in the follow up album „State Of Triumph – chapter two“ in the year 2000. After Jack Frost then left the band, Matthias Lange took on the responsibility for all guitar work on his own. For Mark Cross, METALIUM quickly found a new drummer, Michael Ehré, who became the first drummer in the bands history to be able like the other band members to write songs thus giving METALIUM an extra person’s creativity to strengthen the songs. Since then the band’s line up has remained the same. In 2001, the band then released alongside their Live-DVD/-CD „Metalian Attack – part one“ with clips from the previous year’s tour, their third studio work, „Hero Nation – chapter three“. In 2004 METALIUM then released „As One – chapter four“, and promoted this with a successful Wacken Roadshow European tour. Now, in February 2005, shortly before the release of their fifth album „Demons Of Insanity – chapter five”, the four musicians have taken their first trip to Japan to play a tour. The USA, Russia and South America are also on the planned list of dates for the first time in 2005. The signs definitely point to a storm… ! Line Up : · Henning BASSE – Vocals · Michael EHRE – Drums · Matthias LANGE – Guitars · Lars RATZ - Bass Discographie : MILLENNIUM METAL – chapter one (1999) STATE OF TRIUMPH - chapter two (2000) METALIAN ATTACK – part one LIVE (2001) HERO NATION - chapter three (2002) AS ONE – chapter four (2004) (Armageddon Music/Underclass) DEMONS OF INSANITY—chapter five (2005) (Armageddon Music/Underclass) Metallian attack 2 (Armageddon) Le nouveau DVD des guerriers Allemands. Un Dvd contenant une partie Live avec un show d'enfer et les meilleurs hansons du groupe emmené par un chanteur (Henning Basse), un p'tain chanteur dans le style…) sous estimé en matière de Heavy Metal pur et dur. | METALIUM Confirm New Album Title
German power metallers METALIUM have posted the following update at their website:
"The title of the new Metalium will be Nothing To Undo – Chapter VI, It’s an unusual 'realistic' and 'direct' title for a Metalium album but it fits the best to express the meaning of the lyrics. The lyrical themes are about the deepest innerside of a human being…. Lies, betrayal, false friends… but also about honour, loyalty and blind understanding. In general the most direct and dramatic lyrics of Metalium so far and more related to reality than the other chapters. Once more the lyrics were written by Lars (Ratz - bass) and Michael (Ehre - drums) and we feel that we are getting more and more closer with our style of writing, eventhough both writers kept definitely their own style as always."
As previously reported, Nothing To Undo – Chapter VI will contain the following songs (not in order): 'When Death Calls', 'Dare', 'Insane', 'Gates', 'On My Way', 'Hellfire', 'Spirits', 'Never Die', 'Walls', 'The Heroes Failed', 'Mindless', 'Mental Blindness', 'Follow The Sign' plus a QUEEN cover.
Massacre Records will release Nothing To Undo – Chapter VI in February, 2007. | |
