TURISAS Comments On Upcoming Paganfest America Tour


Finnish warmongers TURISAS are set to invade North American shores this upcoming spring as part of Pagenfest 2008, which also features their fellow countrymen ENSIFERUM, TÝR and ELUVEITIE. This trek, which kicks off on April 25th, is in support of the group’s new album, The Varangian Way.

Warlord Nygard (vocals) further comments: "After years of talks about a North American tour and fans begging us to cross the big pond it is finally happening. We are looking forward to taking the new continent by storm together with our good friends Ensiferum and being backed up by two of the rising names in the scene, Tyr and Eluveitie. It is clear that the strength of this tour is not only in the individual bands playing, but the whole package. This is to be the ultimate tour of the year for any Pagan/Battle Metal fan, so brothers and sisters of Vinland; we will except no excuses - see you in the front row!"

TURISAS Announce Headlining Tour For March/April 2008

After a support slot for ICED EARTH and ANNIHILATOR, Finnish warlords TURISAS will be on the road again in March and April 2008.

"The tour with Iced Earth and Annihilator in October was great; we made a lot of new friends and fans, and both bands were great guys to be on the road with. The reactions were awesome, even if there was a lot of people in the crowd who had never heard of us before. However, we could easily understand that some of our fans weren't prepared to pay the tickets on some 30 euro for seeing us play for 30 minutes - that's 1 euro a minute if you were not too bothered about the other two bands! This is why we are now returning to play full headline sets in Europe for a reasonable ticket price. We are all very excited about getting back on the road and doing our first headlining European tour. To Holmgard and Beyond!" (Warlord Nygard)
