WINTERBORN Announce New Bass Player, Issue Studio Update
Finnish metallers WINTERBORN have announced the addition of bassist Pasi Kauppinen (SILENT VOICES) to the band's line-up. Guitarist Pasi Vapola commented with the following: "Kauppinen was a very natural choice for us because he knows the band, the music and all the guys so well and he is absolutely a great player and musician. We're very happy to have him in the band. We did the first album with him and now the second one so he knows the material pretty well and the chemistry between him and the rest of the band is just great. It's great to have a new persona in the band, it really freshes the air and makes it all interesting, the routine and all. And maybe we end up writing songs with Pasi for the next album. At least we have now one more guy in the band who writes music. But he didn't play anything on the record because the decision was made just after we got all the recordings done. So Janne and I played the basses on this next album."
In other news, in regards to Winterborn's follow-up to last year's Cold Reality album, the guitarist had this to say: "We finished the recordings like six weeks ago and now we are waiting for the chance to start mixing the album. The studio is under major construction so it takes time but it is really worth waiting for. After this it will be one of the best studios in the country. So we know it can be heard in the final result. Its been a lot of work and it has already taken a lot of time. We had some difficulties with the schedules and of course the change in the line up took some time. And besides this, the band is currently without a training place and looking for a new one. We hope the problem will be solved pretty soon. We have planned the cover art and layout and that sort of stuff for the album, and a title too. We will let you know pretty soon. But right now we have to be patient with this one and trust that it will be worth all the waiting. It will not be ready for release any time soon, and here in Finland we have some negotiations with labels still to do, and unfortunately it takes time. But we will be back - back with vengeance and the album will kick some serious ass! I cant wait to let you all here it!"
