Former JACKYL Bassist's CITIZEN KANE To Usher In New Year In "Fast Lane"www.TriCities.com has issued the following report from Tom Netherland:
What a year. Memorable for some and forgettable for others, either way 2007 is about to enter into history.
Make way for 2008.
Rock in the new year with
CITIZEN KANE. The Kingsport-based band will dropkick the old and roll in the new year on New Year’s Eve at Fast Lane in Bristol, Virginia. A primo package awaits all who attend.
“For $20 per person, the show includes a free buffet from 8 to 11, and free taxi service to any hotel within about 15 miles,” said James Salyers, founder of Citizen Kane. “You won’t find a better deal in the Tri-Cities. That’s bang for your buck.”
Citizen Kane brings the bang.
Formed in 1995, Citizen Kane includes the considerable talents of lead singer Salyers, lead guitarist Donnie Alexander, drummer Myron Steffey and bassist Tom Bettini.
Longtime heavy metal fans may recall Bettini from his days with JACKYL, who were signed to major record label Geffen Records, alongside such acts as
GUNS N' ROSES. “Tom joined Citizen Kane in 2007. He has opened for
ZZ TOP, AEROSMITH and
TED NUGENT,” Salyers said. “He’s toured in Europe and South America. He did Woodstock in ‘92 in front of 350,000 people.”
Citizen Kane won’t play for nearly as many people at Fast Lane, but they do feature an earth-rattling sound.
“We’re
METALLICA meets
LED ZEPPELIN,” Salyers said. “We’re modern rock and heavy metal. It’s loud and energetic. It’s very entertaining. It’s a driving force.”
