| ceux là sont Canadiens, et maitrisent bien leur sujet, pour autant que l'on puisse écouter, extraits un peu courts : http://www.myspace.com/vertigosoundsvoir aussi : http://www.renegadeproductions.net/Vertigo/Vertigo_TakesMeBack.htmla bio : Vertigo was formed in 1989/90 by Rob Begg, Rick Spolar, and Cam van As. After a brief stint with another member, the three pop souls decided to go in a more meaningful direction. Rob had recently returned from the highly acclaimed Music Institute of Technology in the bass guitar program after leaving the band MATREX, where he was replaced by Jim Buckshon. In Los Angeles, Rob began writing songs with members from Tom Petty’s band as well as the late 70’s band The Knack. After leaving Los Angeles, Rob teamed up with Rick Spolar, fresh from a local group called The Freeze, which later evolved into The Billboard Heroes. Rick’s great leadership skills and love for power pop were extremely important to the emerging power writing trio team. Last but not least, Cam van As with his boyish good looks and pipes to die for, became Rob’s missing link for the power pop songs in his head. Vertigo was inspired by the 1970’s power pop sound of bands like The Raspberries and the 80’s super group The Outfield. In their short time frame, Vertigo played along side bands like The Romantics, Nazareth and Bob Rock, tooling their pop sound ultimately to what you hear on this record. The band used various producers, but learned most of their craft by working with the famous Jack Richardson. Years later, the songs on this CD made their way back to Jim Buckshon, who by now had become established as label head for Renegade Sounds, which has released successful melodic hard rock albums from Renegade and MATREX. The label and the band are excited to announce the worldwide release of Takes Me Back by Vertigo, scheduled for fall 2007. | |
