Maiden Hollywood Leads "Revolution Against The Entertainment Industry" To Get IRON MAIDEN On Hollywood Walk Of Fame Maiden Hollywood reports:
"The revolution against the entertainment industry begins today with Maiden Hollywood leading the charge. Music fans from all over the world must join together to raise $25,000 to sponsor
IRON MAIDEIN's nomination for a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The nominating procedures are surprisingly simple. Anyone can nominate a celebrity, including the fans. The first step is to submit an application to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, along with the sponsorship fee, and include the nominee's biography, photograph and charitable activities. Iron Maiden must also agree to appear at the unveiling ceremony.
Once the application is submitted, the Hollywood Walk of Fame Committee considers the nomination at its annual meeting in June. Each member of the five-person committee represents a different entertainment category, including film, radio, recording, television and theater. After the honorees have been selected by the committee, the chamber's board of directors and the Los Angeles Board of Public Works vote to approve the committee's decision. Of the approximately 200 nominations submitted each year, the committee selects about 20 celebrities for the honor.
The nominations for next year must be submitted by May 31, 2008 - the day of the second
Iron Maiden concert at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, California - but it's unlikely that we will meet our fund-raising goal by this year's deadline. The goal is to raise the money by next year's deadline.
