du glam US, Sweet Savage est est en cours de reformation, avec ciomme projet le Rocklahoma, qeulques dates europeennes et un album

http://www.myspace.com/sweetsavagetunes

The greatest of all blonde glam melodic bands of the 80's, were Sweet Savage, and they are currently reforming with prospects of a Rocklahoma spot (in July), European dates, and an album of tunes that prove they should have been up there with the Poison and Warrants' of this world.
The band Joey C Jones (GloryHounds, CCDeville, Rick Nielsen ,Robin Zander) on lead vocals, Chris Sheridan guitars, Laine Sheridan bass, and Randy St John, came out at the same time as Poison but were mainly mid west based and despite a huge following and turning down the Enigma Records deal that Poison eventually took, proving major deals were not the problem; only they were too good for LA!
They've now secured promotion with glam guru Kelv Hellrazer, who has been helping Joey C Jones prior to this project, (with his latest cd release "Melodies For The Masses-Best of Vol1" available on CD Baby and iTunes)

une petite video live en 81 à Belfast :

SWEET SAVAGE live in Belfast, 1981:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2MQtcHTpKQ

et édition d'un double vinyl sur les années 78-81 :

Maniacal Records (USA) and High Roller Records (Germany) have announced a joint vinyl release for 2008, a SWEET SAVAGE two-LP release of studio material and live songs from the band's early years (1978-1981) done with the group's co-operation. Due in the summer, "Eye of the Storm - The Early Years" marks the first time that original studio recordings from the late '70s and early '80s are properly made available to the general public and also the first time that most of the songs have been committed to vinyl. The material consists of studio material and some live cuts from the early years. This is rare studio and live material that holds its own alongside the other NWOBHM greats of that era like ANGELWITCH, IRON MAIDEN, HOLOCAUST and TYGERS OF PAN TANG. 500 copies will be pressed and only 250 will be available for the USA. Half the pressing will be on green vinyl in tribute to Ireland.

Contact Mike at Maniacalrecords@aol.com for pre-order information. Or if in Europe, contact Steffen at info@high-roller-records.de.

31/10/08 - KERRANG! review of the Belfast show!

As everyone knows already, at the start of October we played our first gig in Belfast for almost a decade, to mark the event, we were fortunate enough to have a reviewer from Kerrang! magazine present at the show. The article was published last week and for those of you who didn't see it(and we would guess theres quite a few of you) heres the full article:

"

KKKKK

NWOBHM STALWARTS USHER IN A NEW ERA WITH LONG OVERDUE HOMECOMING

Back on home turf for the first time in a decade, it could be a slight understatement to say that tonight's belated return from hometown heroes Sweet Savage comes with some great expectations. Fortunately, the resurgent veterans are in no mood to disappoint. Local newcomers Jane Doe prove to be anything but anonymous; their infectious racket, veering between walloping power and soaring melody. By contrast, Worldsend are the picture of talent tempered by maturity and deliver an engrossing, measured performance of gritty soulful rock.

Really, though, tonight's all about the headliners, who shift through the gears at an alarming rate. The punkish bark of bass-wielding front man Ray Haller appears to have actually intensified with age, while the guitar team of Trev Fleming and the technically brilliant "Speedo" Wilson alternate thrillingly between harmonic warmth and shred-heavy attack, to rejuvenate old classics like Metallica fave Killing Time and the neck-bothering Eye of the Storm, while new tune Lady of the Night sends expectations for the new record skyward. The fire in their bellies undeniably relit, Sweet Savage are rebooted and reborn and better still, they're just getting (re)started

New record update from Speedo!!! The new Sweet Savage record is well on the way to completion, heres a short message from the studio from Speedo Wilson:

'We have been working hard on the new album over the past month &
are finally getting there, starting to see the light at the end of the
tunnel.

Surprisingly the main chore has been trying to choose which tracks to use and which to leave out.

We
can say that we will be doing a version of Whiskey in the Jar, there
are a few reasons for this, and we are very aware of the Metallica
thing. But we have our own personal reasons for doing this tune. Just
ask us . . . . lol

But the main news is that the album is nearing completion & we will update you all asap!

Speedo'
