Former DARK ANGEL guitarist Jim Durkin (see photo below) has reportedly joined the reactivated Southern California metal band RUTHLESS. The group has scheduled the following dates:

Oct. 24 - Cheyenne Saloon - Las Vegas, Nevada
Apr. 24-25 Tauberfrankenhalle - Lauda-Königshofen, Germany

RUTHLESS was formed in 1982 by lead guitarist Kenny McGee and lead vocalist Sami D. The band released a Bill Metoyer-produced five-song EP on Iron Works Records in America, Banzai/Polygram in Canada and Axe Killer in France. A full-length album entitled "Discipline of Steel" followed in 1985.

RUTHLESS disbanded in 1990 but reformed earlier this year.

Former DARK ANGEL Guitarist Jim Durkin Comments On Joining RUTHLESS

Guitarist Jim Durkin (DREAMS OF DAMNATION, RUTHLESS, ex-DARK ANGEL) has posted the following message:

"Hey People!

As you may have read... I've joined Ruthless! Sammy D. (lead vocals) is an ol' buddy of mine for over 20 years! We have a lot of laughs together... and more than a few beers!

They were one of the heavier bands around back in the day. Dark Angel and Ruthless played a lot of the same clubs in the 80's. So it seems like a nice fit.

Their schedule is in line with mine so that I can work with them. I will not be doing the Vegas show sadly due to other business I need to take care of on that weekend.

Dreams Of Damnation is of course alive and well... I hope to start tracking the new songs before December. We are waiting for our drummer Fabricio to return from Brazil!! Anyone seen him?? hehe

We may have to use a stand-in at our Black Castle gig in November.

I'm looking forward to seeing you at the next D.O.D show and the upcoming Ruthless shows!

RUTHLESS To Take Part In Live Radio Interview



RUTHLESS members Jim Durkin (lead guitar - DREAMS OF DAMNATION, ex-DARK ANGEL), Sammi D (lead vocals) and Kenny McGee (lead guitar/backing vocals) will be doing a live interview on Tuesday, January 27th at 8 PM (PST) on Powermaker Radio Las Vegas - www.kwtfworldwide.com.

Says the band, "We will be discussing upcoming show in Vegas, new CD coming soon, upcoming exclusive tour dates and more!!!"

The above mentioned show is scheduled for January 31st at the Cheyenne Saloon in Las Vages, Nevada.

As previously reported, Ruthless will play a headline show at the Jumping Turtle in San Marcos, CA on April 4th. The band are also confirmed for the 2010 edition of Italy's Play It Loud festival. Further details on that to follow.

Ruthless recently signed a deal with My Graveyard Productions in Italy for the re-release of their Metal Without Mercy album. It features a new cover with updated photos, a custom insert, and is due to be released worldwide in February.
