F5 To Headline Sabian Live! Concert At NAMM 2009, Signing Sessions Announced



F5, featuring former MEGADETH members David Ellefson (bass) and Jimmy DeGrasso (drums), have issued the following update:

"F5 will headline this year's Sabian Live! concert during NAMM '09. The event will be held Friday, January 16th at the main Park Plaza Ballroom in The Sheraton Hotel Anaheim, CA. NAMM badges are required for entrance and additional information for attendance will be available at the Sabian booth inside the Anaheim Convention Center during trade show hours.

The event will begin at 8:00pm, with F5's performance at 10:40 pm. The evening's concert will be broadcast live from www.drumchannel.com. More information on the event can be found at www.sabian.com and www.drumchannel.com .

Bassist David Ellefson will be signing autographs for Rockhouse Method at 4:00 pm on Friday, January 16th and for Peavey at 11:00 am Saturday, January 17th. Drummer Jimmy DeGrasso will be signing autographs both Friday and Saturday (January 16th and 17th respectively) at the Sabian booth, times to be announced at the show. Guitarist Steve Conley will be doing product demos and autograph signings at various times throughout the convention at the Krank Amplification booth."

PILEDRIVER Guitarist To Attend NAMM; Already Working On New Material


Canadian heavy metal cult band PILEDRIVER have issued the following update from guitarist Kinky Pork Cream:

"First off, I hope that you all had a great holidays. I can say that 2008 has been a year of ups and downs for us ...but thankfully mainly up. We finally have a new album and we are working on a tour of Europe for this summer. Also there is plans for many more Canadian dates. Hopefully these plans go through s they are being arranged by a booking company so keep your fingers crossed. I have also started to go through my music folders and have started to work on some new PIledriver tunes. I know its early but I figure if I'm inspired why not work on some new tunes. Well that's all for now. Oh I almost forgot. I will be attending the 2009 NAMM show in California on January 15-18th..so if any of you are going say HI. I will most likely be hanging with the Jackson Guitar guys.

Petrucci recently spoke about the possibilities of a full-blown Vixen reunion: "It was great to reconnect with Janet (former Vixen singer/guitarist) and Share (Pedersen - former Vixen bassist) again and catch up on our lives. Recording together sounded like a good idea at the time but easier said than done, especially since geographically we're all over the map. We did exchange some song ideas and that's where we left it...doh!"

ARCH ENEMY's Michael Amott will attend this year's NAMM (National Association Of Music Merchants) show, which is being held January 15-18 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. Michael will be signing at the Dean Guitars, Randall Amplifiers and Zoom/Samson booths on Friday, January 16th and Saturday, January 17th.

Michael Amott comments: "This will be the 4th year in a row that I attend the circus that they call ‘NAMM’. As always, it’s going to be cool meeting fans and fellow gear freaks! I'm especially looking forward to unveiling my new signature DEAN guitar! I’m overwhelmed with the outstanding quality of this deadly axe – can’t wait for everyone to see it! "2009 is a brand new year and Frank will be kicking things off at the 2009 NAMM show in Anaheim. CA this January 17th, 2009.

Saturday, January 17th

11 AM - Marshall Amplifiers Amp clinic and guitar performance. Frank will demonstrate the JVM 410 amp, and perform thru several Marshall amp models. This will be a live performance and clinic. Frank will be signing autographs and meeting fans at the Marshall booth.

12:30 - 1 PM - Tone Pros Bridges - Frank and Dave Rude will be signing autographs and discussing Tone Pros bridges. Frank uses a Tone pros bridge on one of his SG's that was having trouble staying in tune. The new TP set up is very solid and stays in tune great!

1-2 PM - Frank will be walking around the NAMM convention and visiting his friends at various endorsers companies including Dean Markley Strings, Jim Dunlop, DaDDario strings, Audio Technica mics, Peavey, Digitech and many other great companies.

2:30 - 3:30 PM - Frank and Dave will be visiting Gibson guitars and gear division to sign autographs and discuss Gibson gear, such as pick-ups and other Gibson parts.

3:30 - 5:30 PM - Frank will be appearing at the Gibson guitar booth playing and demonstrating various Gibson models, such as SGs and Flying Vs made by the custom shop.

6 PM - Frank will be setting up at the House Of Blues for a show opening for Michael Schenker and Warren DiMartini, for the Guitar Gods concert.

8 PM - the Frank Hannon Band will take the stage at the House Of Blues and rock out HARD!!!!"

BRUCE KULICK Issues Post-NAMM Update




Former KISS guitarist BRUCE KULICK has issued the following update:

"So last week was the big NAMM show in Anaheim, CA and of
course anywhere with that much gear and musicians is a good place for me to be. I was asked by the Rock N' Roll Fantasy Camp to be part of a jam gig for Bugera Amps, made by a very large famous company called Behringer. KIP WINGER was on bass and vocals, Mark Hudson on guitar and vocals, Earl Slick on guitar and Chris Slade on drums rounded out the all star FC band, and we kicked off the pre NAMM show with our songs Wednesday at the Hilton next to the convention center. We did BEATLES, AEROSMITH, LED ZEPPELIN, AC/DC etc, and the president of the company, Uli Behringer (who is a great keyboard player) got up and jammed along on some of the songs.

After our show, it was time to get some rest but of course I was approving a final mix for one of my songs for BK3, the instrumental with Steve Lukather (using my laptop in my room at the Hilton is not the most ideal, but I have no worries with my trusty headphones making sure it was great). Sometimes you have to work on your music on the road. Check out the article on the MacWorld website regarding my Apple G4."
