SIRENIA - Voting Open For New Video On Norwegian Television Program

Voting is now open for SIRENIA's new video for 'My Mind's Eye' on Norway's NRK2's Metall Svisj. Go to this location for more information. The video can also be found here.

As previously reported, the release date for Sirenia's new album, Nine Destinies And A Downfall, has been postponed for two weeks in Germany and Austria. The new release date will be March 9th. February 23rd is still the correct release date for the rest of Europe.

Nine Destinies And A Downfall is now available for pre-order at this location as a regular jewel case version and a special tincase limited edition featuring the digi-pack version of the album, a Sirenia sticker set at certificate of authenticity. The special edition is limited to 500 copies.

SIRENIA - Monika Pedersen To Co-Host "The DJ PainKiller" Radio Show

SIRENIA singer Monika Pedersen will be co-hosting The DJ PainKiller Show on the popular Rock/Metal online radio station Hard Rock Radio Live(www.hardrockradiolive.com ). The show will air live on Thursday, April 26th at 2 PM (EST)/8 PM (CET).

The show, a two hour blend of old & new rock/metal tunes, has featured in the past great artists on the panel such as British metal Gods JUDAS PRIEST.

Sirenia's latest album, Nine Destinies And A Downfall, was released in March, 2007 via Nuclear Blast Records.

SIRENIA Forced To Cancel Godzzfest Appearance

Norwegian/Danish gothic metalers SIRENIA have issued the following update:

"It is with a great deal of frustration and dissappointment that we annonunce that our schedualed show at Godzzfest in Kolding, DK will not happen. Due to storms and bad weather in the south of Norway and north of Denmark all sailings with Masterferries and Colorline were cancelled. As we were informed about this only two hours prior to our schedualed sailing saturday morning, it became impossible for us to make it to Kolding in time for the festival. We have tried absolutely every alternative way to get there in time, but without success. No flights were available on such short notice, and no other way would get us there in time. Although this is circumstances beyond our control we would like to extend our deepest apologies to our fans and friends in Denmark as well as the Godzzfest organisation. We hope to make it up to you soon. yours in metal"

According to a posting on THERION's web site, Norwegian/Danish gothic metal band SIRENIA has cancelled its participation in THERION's upcoming European headlining tour "due to lineup problems." THERION added, "As we're on tour and time is short, we won't replace them. THERION will be playing 2.5 hours with a break in between and there will be a considerably improved stage scenery so there is no real need for a mid act in order to have a full evening going. On top on this there will be special guests and special performances (more info to come on that further on)."

SIRENIA Part Ways With Singer Monika Pedersen


Swedish progressive death metallers THERION have issued the following update:

"Due to musical disagreements singer Monika Pedersen and Sirenia has decided to part ways, here is Monika's statement:

"After much consideration I have chosen to leave Sirenia, but I will continue with music. The reason is, that we have too many musical differences, and I don’t feel like it’s the right band for me. I have had a great time in the band, lots of good experiences and only wish the best for the band in the future.

I want to send a big “Thank You” to all the fans for your support – you haven’t heard the last of me!"

As a result of these circumstances Sirenia will have to pull out of the planned European tour with Therion. The show in Athens will be postponed until may 2008. You have our apologies for this, Sirenia will be back on the road next year. We will use the coming months to find a new singer, as well as composing music for our next album."

Norwegian gothic metal band SIRENIA has launched a vocalist search following the recent departure of Danish singer Monika Pedersen due to "musical differences." "We are looking for a talented singer with experience, a cool image and a strong passion for music," the group says in a statement. "Someone who is willing to give the band a high priority for many years to come. Please send us a biography, some recent photos and an mp3/wma file of your voice. If you have your own MySpace site, send us the link."

"After several months of searching and auditioning, the search for a new singer is finally over. It has been a busy period for us with more than 500 singers showing their interest in the singer position. We would like to thank each and every one of you for honouring us with your applications; we have listened carefully to every demo we received. And we have done our very best to answer as many mails as possible. Thanks a lot for all the response, it was highly appreciated. The new singer will be introduced within the next couple of days. Stay tuned!!"

SIRENIA's latest album, "Nine Destinies and a Downfall", entered the German Media Control chart in March 2007 at position No. 54. The CD was recorded at Jailhouse studios in Norway with engineer Hans Eidsgard and Soundsuite studios in France with Terje Refsnes and was mixed and mastered at Antfarm studios in Aarhus, Denmark with Tue Madsen.
