SIRENIA - New Album In The Works







Norway's SIRENIA have issued the following update:

"These days we are going through the final preparations for our next album. The songs are all finished and recordings will start in July. The album will be recorded in Sound Suite Studios, France and Stargoth Studios, Norway. The mixing and mastering will take place in Antfarm Studios, Denmark with Tue Madsen. We are really excited about this new album and can't wait to share the new song material with all of you. The album will be complete in September, and released early next year.

SIRENIA will enter the studio later this month to begin recording its new album for an early 2009 release via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD will be tracked at Sound Suite Studios in France and Stargoth Studios in Norway while the mixing and mastering sessions will take place at the Antfarm Studios in Denmark with Tue Madsen.

SIRENIA recruited Ailyn as the replacement for Monika Pedersen, who left the group last fall after only one album due to "musical differences."

SIRENIA - Title Of New Album Revealed, Release Date Confirmed

SIRENIA have issued the following update:

"The 13th Floor is the title of the new album.

The release date is set to January 23rd, 2009. Expect a melodic and powerful album in the typical Sirenia vein. The album features guest appearances by Jan Kenneth Barkved (who also did some guest appearances on our debut At Sixes And Sevens), French violin player Stephanie Valentin adds to the sound along with the Sirenian choir that has been an important part of our sound since the very beginning.

Sirenia's new album will feature the recording debut of new vocalist, Ailyn. She replaces Monika Pedersen, who left the band in November 2007 after only one album "due to musical disagreements" (she replaced Henriette Bordvik).

Norway's SIRENIA recently premiered their new video for the track 'The Path To Decay', lifted from the band's new album, The 13th Floor. Check it out below.

Mainman Morten Veland states: "We had a great time in Gothenburg shooting a brand new video for the song 'The Path To Decay', taken from our upcoming album. We worked with producer Patric Ullaeus who has a big name in the scene, producing videos for many great metal acts. We are very satisfied with the end result and we look forward to share the video with all of you!"
