MIDNATTSOL Launch Official MySpace Page

German / Norwegian folk metal act MIDNATTSOL have launched an official MySpace page. It is still under construction but fans can check it out at this location.

As previously reported, the band is currently working on the follow-up to their 2005 debut, Where Twilight Dwells. A 2007 release is expected.

Midnattsol features vocalist Carmen Elise Espenaes (the younger sister of LEAVES' EYES singer Liv Kristine), guitarists Christian Hector and Daniel Droste (both in AHAB), bassist Birgit Öllbrunner (r.i.p )keyboardist Daniel Fischer, and drummer Chris Merzinsky (r.i.p). Ahab released their debut album, The Call Of The Wretched Sea, in September 2006 and r.i.p are gearing up for the release of their debut, ...Out To R:I:p All Nations.

MIDNATTSOL Working On New Album, Four Songs Complete

MIDNATTSOL have issued the following update:

"We're pleased to announce that we're hard at work on our new album. Four songs have been completed and we are putting new song ideas together.

For anyone that hasn't seen it, there is a small preview of some of the new material on YouTube, filmed at the Metal female Voices Festival 4 in Belgium last October. Click here to check out the live video footage of 'Open Your Eyes'."

MIDNATTSOL Seeking New Guitarist

As previously reported, MIDNATTSOL guitarist Christian Hector recently decided to leave the band in order to focus more on his personal life and his doom metal band AHAB (read his statement here). Midnattsol has issued the following update:

"After the departure of our guitarist Christan Hector, as announced a few days ago, we are looking for a motivated, dedicated and party capable musician, who wants to assume the open position on the guitar. If you are interested and if you want to find out more about what will expect you next to the forthcoming live gigs (Summer Breeze Open Air, Metal Female Voices Fest, Ragnarök Festival, etc.), just write to: new-guitarist@midnattsol.com

After that, you will receive all the relevant information concerning rehearsals and rehearsal room, way of working, etc., as well as a little questionnaire to you and your musicial activities.
