HEAVEN AND HELL Grace The Cover Of Sweden Rock Magazine

The latest issue of Sweden Rock magazine sees the four HEAVEN AND HELL band members (Ronnie James, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Vinny Appice) on the cover in an exclusive shot by photographer Mick Hutson. Tony Balogh at the magazine spoke to Tony early in the New Year for his thoughts on the upcoming tour. The feature also includes interviews with Geezer and Ronnie. The issue is due out on February 6th.

HEAVEN AND HELL Drawing Huge Interest From Fans; Two Albums Coming

Launch Radio Networks has issued the following report from Bruce Simon:

Fan interest in the BLACK SABBATH reunion, under the name HEAVEN AND HELL, has been huge. The band's tour, which starts March 11th in Vancouver, British Columbia, is Number One on the Top 50 list for the concert industry trade magazine Pollstar, indicating that more people want to know about the dates than any other trek. The news comes as no surprise to guitarist TONY IOMMI, who told us he follows what people have been saying online about the group: "Very good, very good. I do usually check (online) just to see how things are going. And it's doing... I mean, the actual feedback from my fan club and what not, it's very, very good."

Heaven And Hell includes Sabbath guitarist Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler, along with singer RONNIE JAMES DIO and drummer Vinny Appice, who recorded several albums after OZZY OSBOURNE's original tenure with the group.

In related news, there will be not one, but two Dio-era Black Sabbath albums out this spring. The first is Black Sabbath: The Dio Years, a best-of that samples from the studio albums Dio recorded with Black Sabbath - Heaven & Hell in 1980, Mob Rules in 1981, and Dehumanizer in 1992. The album will also include three new songs, titled 'The Devil Cried', 'Shadow Of The Wind', and 'Ear In The Wall'. Black Sabbath: The Dio Years comes out April 3rd.

In addition, there will be a live album from a December 1981 show in London on the Mob Rules tour. It's called Black Sabbath: Live At Hammersmith Odeon, and it contains 14 tracks from both Dio's and Osbourne's time in Sabbath. The album will be available May 1st through Rhino Handmade in a limited run of only 5,000 numbered copies at rhinohandmade.com.

HEAVEN AND HELL's Vinny Appice Doesn't Rule Out The Possibility Of New Material From This Lineup

KNAC.com has issued an exclusive interview with legendary HEAVEN AND HELL drummer Vinny Appice (ex-BLACK SABBATH), conducted by Debby Rao. The following is an excerpt:

Q: So you went to England to lay down the three new drum tracks for the upcoming Heaven And Hell release. Tell me a little bit about the three new songs. How do they differ from early Sabbath?

A: Obviously, from the early stuff, they are a little bit more polished. There is more production quality on them. The songs themselves contain very heavy riffs. There are two songs that are on the slow side, so they a bit more Sabbathy. It sounds like a cross between Heaven And Hell, and Dehumanizer. Ronnie is singing his ass off and Tony and Geezer are playing asses off. It is really cool, I am really excited."

Q: Do you think there will be maybe a full album of all new original Heaven And Hell material, is in the cards?

A: "Well, you never know. It hasn't been said that is what we are going to do, but is hasn't not been said either. So you never know. We will see what happens toward the end of the tour. The good thing is this band, this combination and line-up works pretty fast. We are able to do things without wasting a lot of time. So it can be done in a fair amount of time. We will have to wait and see what happens at that point."

HEAVEN AND HELL's Sweden Rock Performance To Air On Swedish Radio In September




The BLACK SABBATH Live Project website reports that Sweden's P4 will be broadcasting HEAVEN AND HELL's performance from the Sweden Rock Festival (6/7/2007) two months from now.

Pictured is the cover art for the forthcoming DVD from Heaven And Hell - Live At Radio City Music Hall. The artwork for the CD of the same title is very similar, minus the photo of the band. However, the artwork for the Special Edition is still under wraps. Pre-order links are not available yet.

HEAVEN AND HELL - Special Concert Prize Package To Be Given Away At Rock Hall Screening In Cleveland

Rhino Records and HEAVEN AND HELL will be giving away a special concert prize package to a lucky winner at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame + Museum's screening of the new Live From Radio City Music Hall DVD on August 29 in Cleveland, Ohio. The screening takes place from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and is sponsored by the Rock Hall, WJCU, WCSB, WRUW and Free Times Magazine. Admission is free. The grand prize includes two tickets to see Heaven And Hell (with ALICE COOPER and QUEENSRŸCHE) on September 19 at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center near Buffalo, NY, backstage passes to meet the band, dinner with the crew and copies of the new DVD, CD and tour program. Other prizes to be given out at the screening include the special-edition box set version of Live From Radio City Music Hall (limited and available exclusively on line from Rhino.com on September 25) and a Radio City Music Hall special edition t-shirt made exclusively for the New York City concert (less than 300 were produced making this the rarest of Heaven And Hell shirts!).

The event will be MC'd by Chris Emig (pictured), lead singer for Cleveland band CELLBOUND, who attended the Radio City concert and makes an appearance on the DVD. Special guest speaker proceeding the screening will be the DVD's producer Barry Ehrmann. The DVD will be shown in its entirety in the Rock Hall's fourth floor theater. Free Heaven And Hell official band merchandise - including tour shirts (Shirt #1, Shirt #2, Shirt #3), 18-page full color tour program with rare Black Sabbath photos, limited-edition 24"x 36" posters, and more - will be passed out at the end of the showing (while supplies last - limit 1 item per person). The Rock Hall encourages fans to arrive early as response has been very strong. Wrist bands will be passed out beginning at 5 p.m. on the day of the event.

In other news, The Exchange, an independent record store chain with 21 stores in the Cleveland and Pittsburgh regions, will be offering a special sale price to fans for the new Heaven And Hell release in support of the Rhino Records screening. The DVD will be on sale for the incredibly low price of $6.66 ($19.99 suggested list price) and the double CD set for only $9.99 ($19.98 suggested list price). The promotion begins Tuesday, August 28 at 10 a.m. and runs through Sunday, September 2 and is good at all Exchange locations. There is a limit of two DVDs and two CDs per customer. A similar promotion for Black Sabbath's "The Dio Years" CD earlier this year resulted in record sales numbers for the indie chain.

Heaven And Hell's Live From Radio City Music Hall is the 2007 reunion of the DIO-era Black Sabbath lineup of Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Vinny Appice captured on DVD at the band's sold out performance on March 30, 2007 in New York City. The DVD will include the entire show shot in breathtaking HD, as well as a tour documentary and other bonus footage.
