BRAINSTORM Frontman Issues DVD Box Set Update

BRAINSTORM frontman Andy B. Franck has issued the following update on the band's forthcoming DVD box set:

"Hi there...

I just got back from viewing the history part from our upcoming triple DVD Box Set. We'll have tons of pictures and exclusive live shootings in there... as well as hilarious stories and the shocking truth about every single member of the band (...just kidding,...he he)! Just to let you know, who's responsible for cutting all the live sequences and history parts: please say hello to (pictured) Mr. Michael 'The Cut' Schneider" (sorry buddy....ha ha ha).

As previously reported, Metal Blade Records Europe re-issued the first two BRAINSTORM albums, Hungry and Unholy, at the end of March for the price of a regular CD. Guitarist Torsten Ihlenfeld issued the following statement:

"When we played our tour for Liquid Monster we realised after a few glasses of wine that in 2007 it would be ten years since the release of our debut album Hungry. Besides the typical wining around how fast time flies by, etc… we also came up with something creative. Why not re-releasing the debut album as well as it´s successor Unholy? Both records were not available anymore for quite some time and the timing seemed perfect to us. No new album in 2007, but two re-issues of our first two albums. Of course we didn´t just want to re-release the albums in it´s original version and after searching the archives, we found some really cool bonus material to include. Next up it was clear that we wanted to remaster both albums and even re-mix the Hungry album if in anyway possible - and we did!!! This is definitely the best possible sound you can get of the first two Brainstorm albums! Compare it to the originals which are included as a bonus in the very same package(s).”

Both albums include renewed front art and booklets.

“About the bonus material (remastered as well!) – The Hungry album includes our 5th Season Demo from 1994 with six songs and a running time of 30 minutes. This demo gives you the chance to travel to the very early days of the band and yes, we are still very proud of the demo and quite satisfied with it! Unholy includes two demos, Heart Of Hate from 1993 and the Promo 96 demo, plus the original Japanese bonus track of 'Unholy'. 5 songs in total clocking in after 25 minutes.”

“We as a band celebrate the first decade of BRAINSTORM releases with these re-issues and we hope you guys out there enjoy these albums as much as we still do!”

“On another note – a Brainstorm DVD is in the works where you can (among tons of other stuff) also see footage from the old days. We hope to release the DVD by the end of June, 2007.”

“And to all those asking for a new album. Be cool! A new Brainstorm album will be recorded later on this year to be released in early 2008! We will continue our crusade and hope the next decade will be even more successful than the first one!”

BRAINSTORM Leave Studio, Play Live




In order to be part of this year's Bang Your Head!!! festivities, which took place June 22nd - 23rd at Messegelände in Balingen, Germany, the members of BRAINSTORM drove 800km (each way!) in one day.

Both Toddy and Andy Franck (vox) confirmed that their new album is only about half done. A pre-release single will be available in October, but the actual disc won't see the light of day until January, 2008.

As previously reported, Metal Blade will release the first ever Brainstorm DVD, Honey From The B's (Beasting Around The Bush), on June 29th (Germany/Austria/Switzerland/Italy), July 2nd (rest of Europe). The boxset will be released in Digipack format with special metal effect!

BRAINSTORM Hit The Studio To Record New Album

Germany's BRAINSTORM have issued the following update:

"Dear Brainiacs,

All systems "go" in Brainland. We have entered the Gate Studios in Wolfsburg together with producers Sascha Paeth and Michael Rodenberg to record our new CD, which is due January 25th, 2008. Preceeding the full length CD will be a single CD release on October 19th, 2007 to give you a first shot of new Brainstorm tunes. Be prepared for a real Brainstorm from head to toe.

Recordings are going extremely well so far and we are simply overwhelmed how impressive the new songs sound. These are definitely the best Brainstorm songs that have seen the light of day yet, no kidding, no empty phrases - this is the ultimate Brainstorm album so far. Really can't wait to let you hear!!!

Further, our DVD, Honey From The B'S, has entered the Hungarian DVD charts on #18! Nothing short of amazing, I would like to say!

Last but not least, thanks to all the bass players that have already sent in and are still sending in their applications. We received tons of emails and parcels from bassists all over the world plus there's still stuff coming in and - of course - any applications are still welcome at info@brainstorm-web.net .
