LORD Introduce New Live Guitarist

LORD, featuring former DUNGEON frontman Lord Tim, have issued the following update:

"We'd like to welcome our good friend Mark Furtner, the brains behind the awesome FROMBEYOND project, as our new live guitarist!

Until now, we've had Shane from TRANSCENDING MORTALITY filling in for our live shows in Mav's wake, but given the incredible workload that TM have coming up this year as well as the complexity of both bands' material that had to be played to world-class standards, it was really unfair to ask Shane to commit any more time to Lord.

We had a fantastic time playing with Shane "The Steamroller" and we hope you guys enjoyed the shows we did with him!

Lord Tim co-produced his first album and did vocals on it, and in the process we realised that this guy is one of the best guitar players in the country, so we were fairly sure he'd be able to give the live set a good go. What can we say? In 3 days, he had 10 songs down perfectly. Just insane!

Mark's first shows with us will be in Hobart in May and he'll be sticking around indefinitely until we do find a proper permanent member of LORD (we're taking our sweet old time because we want to find the right person for the job, not just someone who can do it for now).

Mark is also looking for members for FROMBEYOND too, so if you're a musician up to the standards that he'd need, check out the songs on his MySpace page and see how you go. We can see a lot of BIG things happening for that project in the next year or so.

But anyway, let's hear it for Shane for being a champion, and welcome Mark to the stage! "

LORD - Another New Song Available For Streaming

Lord Tim, frontman for Australia's LORD, has issued the following update via MySpace:

"Hey everyone,

We've changed songs yet again to the next song along on the album, 'Same Old Lines'. This is the most traditional power metal song on the album, so if you're into your STRATOVARIUS, EDGUY, early KAMELOT kind of metal, you'll enjoy it (although it's not quite as happy as most power metal).

Of special note is the ridiculous amount of backing vocals in the choruses and the last solo that our guest Mark Furtner did (the brains behind FROMBEYOND) - if your face isn't on fire by the time the last chorus rolls around after all of that shredding, then you must be underwater wearing an asbestos helmet! *grin*

LORD - Final Song From New Album Available For Streaming

Lord Tim, frontman for Australia's LORD, has issued the following update via MySpace:

“So, aside from bonus tracks, we've now reached the end of all of the songs on our new album, Ascendence, and what a great way to end!

‘Legacy’ is the album's epic - lots of solos, millions of guitar layers, insane drums and a huge choir of vocals (featuring the amazing voices of Tania Moran and "G" from Veil).

Some of you may have noticed that a couple of the songs were based on the transition from DUNGEON into LORD, and this song is the end of that story. Anyone interested in checking out the lyrics and liner notes for this song (and all of the songs from Ascendence) can go to www.lord.net.au and go to MUSIC -> LYRICS -> ASCENDENCE.

LORD - "Bring On 2008"




Australia's LORD have issued the following update:

"Hi everyone,

For some of us, the new year has come and gone, for others it's just about to change over. To all of you, regardless of where you are in the world, we'd like to wish you a very happy new year for 2008!

It's been a big year for us here in the LORD camp in 2007. Ascendence was released in Australia/New Zealand and Japan, we toured all over the country, we gained a new guitarist and a LOT of behind-the-scenes stuff was set in motion to make 2008 even bigger than last year.

We'd like to say thank you to each and every one of you for being part of our friends list. Your support and appreciation of our music means the world to us, and that makes us want to do better with each album so we can live up to your awesome comments. If you think the next album we do in 2008 is our best work yet, give yourself a high-five, it's because it's because of people like you that make us want to outdo ourselves every time. Cheers!
