ENGEL, the Gothenburg-based outfit featuring IN FLAMES touring guitar replacement Niklas Englin (PASSENGER),

"And we're back from the grave once again.

I guess you'd like to know what's been going on in the camp, no? The site has been closed, no word neither here or there.

Without boring you with details I can reveal there has been some alterations within the machine named Engel. All for the better.

We have - believe it or not - been recording some stuff. Again. And again we have recorded some insanely cool stuff. We've learned a couple of new tricks and we've unchained a couple of old wolves.

Watch the clip and try to figure it out. You might recognize a bloke or two in there, yes? Nice guy, that Danne-guy. He makes it all kinda fun.

Well, you'll be happy to learn we won't be recording again any time soon. We'd like to focus on other things, for a change.

Like what other things? What does all this mean?

You will find out, very shortly indeed.

Thanks to everyone attending the gig a couple of months back. That was fun, or at least funnish. We decided not to give a shit, which we do not plan doing again. Check out the pictures in the newly updated gallery.

So what else is new? Ah, yes.

Engel will NOT be included in the videogame The Darkness, which we bragged about in the last update. But hey, you can still watch the video - which by the way was supposed to be hooking you videogame-nerds on to some decent moshing - at the YouTube-channel we've got going.

ENGEL - More Absolute Design Samples Available




Gothenburg-based metallers ENGEL have updated their website to include a sample ('The Paraclete') and full track ('Casket Closing') from their upcoming Absolute Design album.

Absolute Design will be available in Sweden on October 31st, in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on November 2nd, and in Europe on November 5th (SPV/Steamhammer).

ENGEL To Take Part In Gothenburg Autograph Session/In-Store Performance




Sweden's ENGEL are scheduled to take part in an autograph signing/in-store performance on November 10th at 2 PM at Media Markt in Gothenburg, Sweden.

As previously reported, Engel are currently streaming the tracks from their new album, Absolute Design, online via their website, at this location.

Absolute Design was released in Sweden on October 31st, in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on November 2nd, and in Europe on November 5th (SPV/Steamhammer).

ENGEL Album To Be Featured On 89.5 WSOU's Pirated Advance This
This Friday night, May 9th, at 11 PM (EST) and then again at 3 AM (EST) Saturday morning, May 10th ENGEL's debut album, Absolute Design will be featured on 89.5 WSOU's Pirated Advance.

WSOU's Pirated Advance takes a just released or soon to be released album and plays it in it's entirety. They also feature an interview with the band as well as giveaways of the CD.

Absolute Design, the debut album from Engel - the Gothenburg, Sweden-based quintet featuring guitarists Marcus Sunesson (ex-THE CROWN) and Niclas Engelin (PASSENGER, ex-GARDENIAN, IN FLAMES), drummer Mojjo (RELEVANT FEW, DRACENA), vocalist Mangan Klavborn, and bassist Michael Håkansson (ex-EVERGREY) - will receive its long-awaited US release on May 20 via SPV/Steamhammer.

IN FLAMES frontman Anders Fridén helped his old friend Niclas (both played together in PASSENGER) record demos and assisted in the production of the CD at Dug-Out Studios in Uppsala with Daniel Bergstrand (producer of In Flames, MESHUGGAH).
