TAROT Comment On Roadshock Tour Cancellation: "If Metallysee Don’t Take Responsibility For This Shit, We Are Eventually Going To See Them In Court"
As previously reported, the organizers of the Earthshaker Festival were forced to cancel their pre-festival Roadshock Tour featuring FINNTROLL, DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER, AFTER FOREVER, TAROT, MACHINE MEN and ALL ENDS following the May 4th show in Nürnberg, Germany. Tarot guitarist Zachary Hietala has issued the following statement regarding the cancellation:
"Tarot is very sorry for the cancelling of the Earthshaker 2007 tour. This is really sad to us and you fans. You were great at the gigs that we were able to play. So great thanks to all of you, we love you.
Metallysee agency fucked up the whole tour and we couldn't do anything else than getting ourselves back to home. Each band on the tour tried to do all the gigs, but Metallysee simply didn't handle any of the promised things.
The backline was shitty and different than what it was said in the contract. They couldn’t take care any of the expenses - buses, food, drinks, even the tour manager got lost in the beginning of the tour and so on. There came these two guys to trying fix things that could possibly be fixed, but obviously they couldn’t do miracles.
Everyday started by the rumouring…are we going to do the today's gig or not, do we have to cancel the tour today, or what? And the next day started the same way. It was really disturbing and made us all feel down.
The bus company even put us on the streets of Hamburg for the one day off because they didn’t get any money from Metallysee to carry on. All the tour buses were old, dirty and didn’t have enough space to begin with. They even gave us (Troll and Tarot) a bus that didn’t have enough beds for all the band members and techs. Fuck Metallysee!
After the last gig we made in Hirsch we heard it was done. We didn’t receive any reasonable information what was going on, who’s going where or how to arrange the people or the equipment back to home. The Earthshaker manager came by and gave us some excuses and helped us out so that we could find our way to the Berlin airport by night.
All the bands had to get away from the tour at their own expense. Metallysee didn’t pay any of the flights. I got home yesterday evening (May 6th) ‘cos we couldn't get flight tickets earlier and had to spend one more night in a hotel in Berlin at our own expense with Tommi and Marco.
The Sweden guys and girls had to go home by train from Nuernburg, right after their gig. They didn’t even have enough time to get a shower. Can you believe that?
All this kind of shit we got from Metallysee every day, incredible? It is certain that our managements will never do any kind of co-operation with this company and if they don’t take responsibility for this shit, we are eventually going to see them in court."
