JEFF SCOTT SOTO Solo Set Announced For Melodic Rock Fest

"I am extremely pleased to announce that former JOURNEY frontman and MelodicRock favourite JEFF SCOTT SOTO will perform a special 1 hour solo set (with full band) prior to the show headliner at Melodic Rock Fest, South Bend, Indiana October 6th.

Further details will be announced shortly - but for those wondering what will be included in this special 60 minute set - EVERYTHING! If you recall the now legendary Live A The Gods set in 2002 was an amazing 55 minutes in length, so get ready to hold onto your hats for a blistering 'best of' set! Jeff Scott Soto's Melodic Rock Fest appearance will also mark the live debut of a new solo track or two...

JEFF SCOTT SOTO - Special Guest At Y&T Fan Appreciation Show

The following message has been posted at singer JEFF SCOTT SOTO's website:

"The Bay Area rock legends Y&T performed two special sold out shows at the Little Fox in Redwood City, CA, same venue JSS will be performing in September, as a special "Fan Appreciation" weekend just for the longtime fans of the band on August 3rd and 4th.

There were many nostalgic raffles and surprises for the two nights including a raffle for a lucky audience member both nights to be brought up on stage to sing a Y&T song of their choice with their heroes. To the audiences surprise on the Saturday night show, a second raffle ticket was called and none other than our own JSS called out from the audience - he had the lucky ticket with no one realizing it was him until he hit the stage... the audience let out a roar of surprise (yes folks, it was pre-planned via invitiation from the band days earlier) and they proceeded to play 'Open Fire', 'Don't Stop Running' and 'Mean Streak'.

Other surprises onstage were WHITESNAKE keyboardist Timothy Drury for one song with the band as well as original guitarist & Y&T member Joey Alves.

It was a dream for Jeff to sing with this special band as he has been a long time fan since the early 80's. Dave Meniketti, singer of Y&T, will return the favor and join JSS and band for some jamming and songs when they appear at the Little Fox on Tuesday, September 25th."

JEFF SCOTT SOTO To Guest On New TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA Album

The latest JEFF SCOTT SOTO (ex-JOURNEY, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, TALISMAN) newsletter is out and reads as follows:

"Jeff has just returned from Florida after spending a few days with the TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA creator and producer Paul O'Neill. It seems Jeff will be a feature voice on the upcoming, long awaited TSO album/production (called Nightcastle). Jeff is NOT part of the upcoming tour though, just the album. This is exciting news as those who know of TSO have witnessed a spectacular like no other production in the world. For those who have little info on it, TSO are a world renown symphonic, classical rock band comprised of over 60 members including full orchestra, four guitar players, 18 singers, etc., who have recorded and performed original & classic compositions since 1996. Jon Anderson (YES), Geoff Tate (QUEENSRŸCHE), Michael Crawford (PHANTOM OF THE OPERA), JEWEL and many other known artists are linked to this extravaganza and Jeff couldn't be more proud to now be part of the family. The album's concept, songs and even details are completely confidential and no info can or will be given here until further notice but you will hear Jeff in a whole different light on the end result, it is another very exciting chapter in the JSS legacy.

For those of you who don't already know, Jeff has made some demos for his new solo album available on his MySpace page which has a direct link from his website. Make sure that you join his blog group for up to date news from the man himself!"

Soto recently posted this on the Melodicrock.com message board regarding these tracks: "As long as everyone remembers they are ALL demos, exactly that, previews of what works and what doesn't. I like MySpace in that I can use it as a testing ground, kinda like when movie studios let audiences preview the film for reactions and know where they have to make final cuts and edits before the theatrical release. The internet is the new wave of media promotion, why not use it to it's fullest capacity? I don't worry about the download factor cuz as they are demos, the production on the album versions will be 100 times more smoking I enjoy reading the reactions, I can already see what the strengths and weaknesses are, thanks!"
