IRON MAIDEN, DRAGONFORCE Among Latest Acts Tapped For Guitar Hero III

GameSpy has issued the following update from Sal 'Sluggo' Accardo:

"Earlier this week, we attended a special community event at Neversoft where several members of the popular Guitar Hero site Scorehero.com were invited to play-test Guitar Hero III and offer feedback. As part of that event, several new tracks from GH3 were announced at Scorehero earlier this evening: RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS - 'Suck My Kiss' (master track), ZZ TOP - 'La Grange', IRON MAIDEN - 'The Number Of The Beast' (master track), DRAGONFORCE - 'Throught The Fire And Flames' (master track).

Since the release of the first Guitar Hero game, Dragonforce has consistently been one of the most requested bands from hardcore players, and, as we found out through our own playtesting, will likely be the toughest song in the Guitar Hero series to date; thankfully, including it as a bonus song means it won't prevent anyone from completing the normal campaign.

Additionally, more information regarding playable characters and the eight venues has been released, which is currently posted at the ScoreHero forums. We'll have our own extended impressions of our Guitar Hero III playtesting later this week."

As previously reported, GamingNexus.com recently announced that rock legend Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, ex-GUNS N' ROSES) had been announced as appearing in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.

Slash will not only be a boss character, he will provide a track for the game in addition to the classic Guns N' Roses hit 'Welcome To The Jungle'.

Other tracks from artists such as ROLLING STONES, BEASTIE BOYS, MUSE and PEARL JAM will appear in the game when it hits retailers this fall.
