| SEBASTIAN BACH - Angel Down Artwork RevealedAs previously, SEBASTIAN BACH (ex- SKID ROW) is set to release Angel Down on November 20th, his first solo album in eight years. The 14-song record was produced by Roy Z ( BRUCE DICKINSON, ROB HALFORD, JUDAS PRIEST), and recorded in July and August at Sound City Studios in Hollywood, CA. The CD will be released via a joint-venture between Merovingian Music, Ltd. (MRV) and Bach's Get Off My Bach Productions, and distributed worldwide through Caroline/EMI Music Group. Click left to view the cover of Angel Down. The art for the album is an original painting by Bach's late father, the celebrated Canadian artist David Bierk who died in 2002. The painting, entitled David Watching, was done in 1990 and was an emotional choice for Bach. Bierk also created the cover artwork for Skid Row's 1991 album Slave To The Grind. His paintings have been exhibited in art galleries all over North America. Joining Bach on Angel Down were guitarists "Metal" Mike Chlasciak and Johnny Chromatic, and Bobby Jarzombek on drums, all long-time members of Bach's touring band, as well as Steve DiGiorgio on bass, who will join Bach and company on the road next summer. Nine of the 14 songs on Angel Down were written or co-written by Bach including the first radio track, '(Love Is) A Bitchslap' (co-written with Roy Z). While more than two weeks away from its official "add" date (September 4), 'Bitchslap' is already being played at powerhouse rock radio stations like KUPD in Phoenix and Boston's WAAF. Bach and Roy Z also co-wrote 'You Don't Understand', 'By Your Side', and 'Our Love Is A Lie', while Bach teamed with Desmond Child for 'Falling Into You'. In addition, the band covered the Steven Tyler/Joe Perry classic 'Back In The Saddle'. Other tracks include 'Stabbin' Daggers', 'Take You Down with Me', 'Negative Light', 'Live & Die', 'American Metalhead', 'Stuck Inside', and 'You Bring Me Down'.

| SEBASTIAN BACH Is Finally "Canadian" The following report is courtesy of ChartAttack.com: Canadian metalheads have always laid claim to SEBASTIAN BACH, but the Canadian government has never accepted the singer as one of our own until now. For the first time in his 20-year career, Bach is Cancon-approved. Music from his new Angel Down album officially qualifies as Canadian content, according to the Canadian Radio-television And Telecommunications Commission (CRTC). The former SKID ROW frontman is ecstatic about the development, even if he's a wee bit confused on Canadian bureaucracy, personifying a regulation ("Cancon") and not the CRTC as the official body recognizing his album as Canadian content. "For 20 years I've been waiting for this," he says soon after hearing the news. "I'm from Peterborough and for Cancon to finally make me a Canadian artist is very heavy to me and it's incredible." According to the CRTC website, a musical selection is judged on its Canadian content in four ways: music, artist, production and lyrics. If two of those areas are wholly Canadian, then the music can qualify as Cancon. Bach has been trying to figure out these regulations for quite a while, sometimes with amusing results. "It did frustrate me for years," he admits. "And I can remember one day, in the last five years, I was in Canada and I was Googling what it takes to become a Cancon artist. "And I found this thing, I think it was on Cbc.com, The History Of Cancon. So I'm watching these video clips and the very last clip is an interview with the head of Cancon [Bach is likely referring to someone from the CRTC] in Ottawa, sitting at her desk and on the wall behind her is a painting by my dad [visual artist David Bierk]. Oh my God! One of my dad's paintings is behind her and she's explaining what is Cancon. I almost fell down when I realized that the big painting on the wall is done by Sebastian Bach's father. "I was like, 'You people need to figure this out. There's no way the stain on my daddy's pants can't be Canadian when his painting's on the wall of the Cancon offices.'" Read more here. | |
