Magic Circle Music Signs With Universal Pictures
Magic Circle Music has announced that Universal Pictures, one of the world's foremost motion picture companies, will release the Magic Circle Festival 2007 - Volume I double-DVD, which includes footage from the 2007 Magic Circle Festival, as well as two full MANOWAR live sets. Manowar's own Joey DeMaio says, "Universal Pictures are the real deal and they are ready, willing and able to blow the roof off the house with this first release."
Hinrich Stuerken, the band's manager and Managing Director of Magic Circle Music Germany joins: "As the entertainment industry continues to evolve this new partnership with Universal Pictures will create a synergy that will provide us both with new opportunities for the future."
Universal Pictures' representatives are also enthusiastic about the deal, which was spurred by Manowar's lasting appeal and the impressive quality of their DVD products. Universal Pictures Germany's A&R/Local Acquisition Manager Susanne Wagner: "Manowar's remarkable documentary of Magic Circle Festival 2007 is Universal Pictures Germany’s first music acquisition. We are very excited to work with a band who are a trademark in the music industry!"
Dirk Lisowsky, Managing Director of Universal Pictures Germany is confident in Universal's ability to make the most of the deal. The inherent value of each Magic Circle Music DVD to date has made a great impression on Universal Pictures. As previously reported, on July 6th and 7th of 2007, 25,000 true metal fans gathered, in Bad Arolsen, Germany, to watch MANOWAR and a legion of other heavy metal warriors perform on the largest stage in the country. Earlier that same summer, on June 30th, 2007, Manowar and HOLYHELL performed at the Kaliakra Rock Fest, in Kavarna, Bulgaria, to another 25,000 true metal fans. Both unique experiences with the Magic Circle Festival 2007 double-DVD set.
This double-DVD package will feature songs from SADIAN, IMPERIA, MOB RULES, LION'S SHARE, DAVID SHANKLE GROUP, HEAVENLY, MESSIAH'S KISS, HolyHell and STORMWARRIOR (featuring Kai Hansen); one live song from each local band BLACK SITUATION and MORDEEN will also appear in the bonus section. The Bulgarian section will also include performances by HolyHell and Russian hard rock act SIXTH SENSE, an address to the fans by Joey DeMaio and a documentary on the Kaliakra Rock Fest, including interviews with the festival organizers Joker Media and the legendary "Metal Mayor" of Kavarna.
