EPICA To Celebrate North American Tour With Deluxe Edition Of Consign To Oblivion



Dutch metallers EPICA are set to invade the U.S. on their first tour alongside friends KAMELOT this fall. Kicking off September 16th at the sold-out ProgPower Festival in Atlanta, where the band will perform alongside U.S. labelmate JORN (the events headliner), the sextet will make stops in New York, Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco and others before completing dates in Los Angeles on November 11th.

Already immensely successful overseas (recently selling out the famed Paradiso Club as well highly acclaimed shows in London), Epica hits the U.S. with an already sizeable stateside fanbase. The dutch sextet featuring former AFTER FOREVER guitarist/founder Mark Jansen and classically trained mezzo-soprano beauty Simone Simons command the stage and your attention with their multi-layered symphonic/power/gothic compositions.

To celebrate the band's stateside debut, Candlelight Records will release a deluxe edition of the band's latest album, Consign To Oblivion. Recorded in
early 2005 and featuring guest contribution from Kamelot vocalist Roy Khan, the album will hit stores nationwide September 19th.

EPICA Return Home From North American Tour, Drummer Calls It Quits


As previously reported, EPICA's first ever North American tour - supporting KAMELOT - wrapped up on October 11th in Los Angeles, CA. Epica have posted the following update at their official website:

"We have just returned from our first USA/Canadian tour. It was an experience that we will never forget and we can only hope to return as soon as possible. Our thanks go out to Kamelot, the crew, the promoters, all the other bands we have shared the stage with and of course all of our fans that showed up every night!

Unfortunately, there is also some bad news: Jeroen (Simons) has decided to concentrate on an other musical career and will therefore leave Epica. We want to thank him for everything he has contributed to the band for the last 4 years and want to wish him all the best in his new musical career!

As reported yesterday (October 14th), Epica will enter Gate Studios to begin pre-production for their next studio album on November 2nd.

EPICA est toujours à la recherche d'un nouveau batteur après le départ de Jeroen Simons survenu à la fin de leur tournée nord-américaine en première partie de KAMELOT. Le groupe rentrera aux Gate Studios le 02 Novembre prochain pour enregistrer les préproductions de leur prochain album. Leur dvd live est toujours prévu pour le début 2007, mais aucune date de sortie officielle n'a encore été avancée.

EPICA - Name Of New Album And Record Label To Be Revealed Soon

EPICA have issued the following year end message to the fans:

"We want to take this opportunity to thank our fans from all over the world for a fantastic year with many highlights! Let's hope that 2007 will be another good year. We are currently working on our new album which will be released in 2007. We will announce the name of the new record company as soon as possible. During 2007 we want to hit the road again and visit many countries. We hope to see and meet you all again!!!"

As previously reported, Epica will return to Gate Studios in Wolfsburg, Germany in January to continue working on their forthcoming album. It will be produced by Sascha Paeth, and GOD DETHRONED drummer Ariën van Weesenbeek will act as a session player for the recordings. Epica is still seeking a full time drummer.
