Triste, triste nouvelle...

C'est avec beaucoup de chagrin que je dois vous annoncer aujourd'hui le décès de Sabine, chanteuse du groupe Elis, le Vendredi 07 Juillet 2006 des suites d'une hémoragie cérébrale qui l'a touchée lors d'une répétition du groupe. Toute la rédaction exprime évidement toute sa tristesse et son soutien au groupe mais aussi à la famille de la jeune femme, à ses amis et à ses fans. ELIS Relaunch Website, To Release New Album Later This Year


As previously reported, ELIS vocalist Sabine Dünser suffered a cerebral hemorrhage on Friday, July 7th during rehearsal and passed away the following day in hospital. She was 29 years old. This put the release of their new album, Griefshire, in some doubt but the band has issued the following update at their official website:

"We sat together a few days ago and discussed, how we will proceed further. First of all, we decided to relaunch our website. Furthermore, we resolved, that we will release the recorded songs. Sabine denoted Griefshire always as her 'baby' and it would be her biggest wish, that the CD will be released. More information will follow at a later date."

The recordings for Griefshire were completed back in March. The album was produced by ATROCITY frontman Alex Krull.

The organizers of the Metal Female Voices Festival in Belgium have launched a photo gallery in Dünser's memory; it can be found at this location http://www.metalfemalevoicesfest.be/elis.htm . They are asking Elis fans that wish to share their pictures of Dünser and Elis to send them to the site so they can be added to the gallery. Depuis la disparition tragique de leur chanteuse Sabine, ELIS pour la première fois s'adresse à ses fans !
"We got together a couple of days ago to discuss if and how to continue. For starters, we decided to re-activate our Web Site. Likewise, we also decided to go ahead and release the songs we have already recorded. Sabine always referred to 'Griefshire' as her "baby" and we believe it would be her greatest wish to have the album released. Further details to come at a later date."
Le nouvel album intiulé Griefshire sortira donc bien fin Octobre 2006 !

Après le décès de Sabine Dünser en Juillet dernier, le groupe Elis a tout de même décidé de continuer son aventure et recherche donc une nouvelle chanteuse.

ELIS have launched an official MySpace page at www.myspace.com/elisofficial . It is still under construction but the songs 'Der Letzte Tag', 'Lost Soul', and 'Devil's Temptation' are currently available for streaming.

This put the release of their new album, Griefshire, in some doubt but Napalm Records is planning to release it in October. Meanwhile, the band is currently seeking a new singer. They recently posted the following update at their official website:

"We have decided to continue on our path. For this reason we are searching for a new singer now. Following qualifications are needed:

Versatile and dynamic voice, it doesn't matter if its trained or not, you only have to carry a tune. Good English and German articulation. A professional attitude, self-confidence, charisma, good looking and an awesome stage performance are also an advantage as much as experience in songwriting."
