GLYDER Guitarist Checks InBat, guitarist for Irish rockers
GLYDER, have issued the following update:
"I feel a bit burned out after all the driving on the Swedish tour. We did 2300 miles and Tony (Cullen - vocals) and I shared the driving. The tour was a great success and there are some clips on YouTube from a radio interview and live in Pub Anchor in Stockholm. The
GOTTHARD guys were cool and nice to work with and we met many great people. We even met a snake and got to touch it which was a first for us, Helena our PR agent has a pet snake called Pythagoraz. We also recorded a live album in Amager Bio in Copenhagen and hope to release it sometime.
We are going to the studio this Sunday to record some new material for an EP entitled Weather The Storm the title track has been floating around since before the debut album and most of the material is stuff that wasn't suitable for either of the two albums. It's not that's its inferior in any way but not fitting the vibe of the first two albums, in fact 'Weather The Storm' is possibly the greatest Glyder track and is an Epic about a crew on a voyage across the sea who are guided by the maps of a ghostly sailor. It is our 'Stairway To Heaven' and I always loved this track so I'm hoping we can do it justice in the studio. I think the EP will show how diverse we can be and it will have many styles on it from reggae, blues, rockabilly, metal. And as the material predates both of the albums it shows what we really are and that we are not afraid to experiment.
On the live front we open for
BLUE ÖYSTER CULT the night before the Raismes Fest in France and the Spanish tour has been rescheduled for October after the Y&T tour ends.
Anyway I'm going to try recover and get my parts ready for the recording ahead."
