ANVIL Confirmed For Japan's Loud Park 06 Festival


According to a posting on ANVIL's official web site, the Canuck metallers are confirmed for the Loud Park 06 festival, which will take place October 14-15, 2006 at the Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Halls 9-11 in Tokyo, Japan.

As previously reported, Anvil were recently at Dump Studios in England with legendary producer Chris Tsangarides (Metal On Metal, Forged In Fire), recording their new album entitled This Is Thirteen (T.I.T). The album will contain 13 tracks. The lyrics for five of them are available here. A release date for the album is still tba. A documentary on Anvil is currently being filmed. It is being directed by Sacha Gervasi, who wrote the Steven Spielberg movie, The Terminal. Sacha is an old friend of the band's that used to do some roadie work for them back in the 1980's. He has filmed some of their shows from their November 2005 and June 2006 European tours. He also filmed Lips 50th birthday show at Heads or Tails in Etobicoke, ON on February 25, 2006. As well he filmed some of the recording of the new album. Sacha also interviewed many people from Anvil's past and present, including former band members.
