AXEL RUDI PELL Further Explains Festival Cancellations Commenting further on the news that
AXEL RUDI PELL has cancelled his scheduled appearances at the Wacken: Open Air and Rock Of Ages festivals, the German guitarist's site has been updated with the following:
"Due to some complaints and some harsh guestbook
entries: The band regrets very much that both summer festivals can't be played. Unfortunately vocalist Johnny (Gioeli) has some major business schedule conflicts (he leads a very successful company in the US). Those conflicts were very short-termed, couldn't be foreseen, and emerged only a few weeks ago."
Says
Axel: "Of course we would have played gladly, but what should I do? Sing by myself? We hereby ask the fans to understand and we have to apologize again. The works on the new record are going well and will be completed in late June, the mix and the mastering will be done in July."
As previously reported, the basic tracks for Axel's new album have been recorded at Redhouse studios in Germany with long-time engineer and friend Charlie Bauerfeind. Johnny has been laying down the vocals in Los Angeles and the mix will be done by Charlie during July. The album will be released by SPV on October 24th in Germany and October 27th in Europe.
Further updates to follow.
