YNGWIE MALMSTEEN - Texas, Puerto Rico Live Dates Announced; New Album Release Date Confirmed

Swedish guitar legend YNGWIE MALMSTEEN is confirmed for Houston's Rock The Bayou Festival which runs from Friday, August 29th to Monday, September 1st at AstroWorld theme park. He is also confirmed to perform in San Juan, Puerto Rico at The Arena Pier 10.

Malmsteen's lineup includes singer Tim "Ripper" Owens (ex-JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH), bassist Bjorn Englen, drummer Patrik Johansson and keyboardist Michael Troy.

Malmsteen has invited fans to join him at Fender University on August 21st–24th, at the home of Fender guitars in Corona, California.

According to a press release, "Yngwie will be attending Fender University as a 'visiting professor' where he’ll spend time with students playing guitar, talking technique, and sharing stories from the incredible life of the guitar legend." According to HMV Japan, Malmsteen will be releasing his as-yet-untitled new album on August 27th in Japan. The album will be released with a bonus DVD, Limited (First Edition) and Special Edition (Deluxe). Street dates in Europe and North America will be announced soon.

As previously reported, guitarist Ymgwie Malmsteen is gearing up for a North American tour in support of his new album, Perpetual Flame, which will be released on October 14th via Rising Force Records (distributed via Koch). The album marks the debut on an Yngwie album by ex-JUDAS PRIEST/ICED EARTH frontman, Tim 'Ripper' Owens, who has issued an updated tour schedule featuring new dates (**) for San Juan, Nashville and St. Petersburg.
