A kindhearted Kingswinford businessman devoted to organising charity events for the NSPCC is delighted to have raised over £17,000 from a fundraising ball.
Gary James, joint owner of Alcomet Ltd held the charity ball at his home at Oak Grange in Caunsall and was so pleased with the success of the night - he is already planning next year’s event.
The night was a complete sell with over 300 people attending the evening which featured live band the Subterraneans and a disco.
Gary came up with the idea after a school reunion ball was cancelled due to lack of support - he thought he could do better and so a committee was formed.
Companies who supported and donated raffle and auction prizes were Blaze Hair, Hollywood Nail and Bodycare, Arizona Crossing, Next Generation Gym Brierley Hill, Stax in Oldbury and H & E Knowles in Brierley Hill.
The highlight of the evening was a guitar donated and signed by rock legend
ROBERT PLANT, which raised £2,700 from the auction.
