DIMMU BORGIR - Advance Public Screenings Of New DVD Confirmed For Portland And Chicago

As previously reported, DIMMU BORGIR’s The Invaluable Darkness DVD - a three-disc package of 2 DVDs plus a bonus audio CD - is scheduled for North American release on October 14th, 2008. Nuclear Blast USA has announced several advance screenings that are open to the public. They are as follows:

Nuclear Blast USA recently discovered that a number of fans that purchased The Invaluable Darkness in North America experienced some audio issues with DVD number 2 during the 'Wacken 2007' portion of the disc. While investigating this issue, Nuclear Blast USA discovered that the defect originated from the manufacturing company.If you purchased The Invaluable Darkness and have not experienced any problems with DVD number 2, please disregard this message. There is no action required on your side

THE INVALUABLE DARKNESS LANDS ON CHARTS!



DIMMU BORGIR - LANDS ON TOP MUSIC VIDEO CHARTS!

The Invaluable Darkness, a three-disc release of two DVDs with a bonus audio CD from Norway's symphonic black metal band DIMMU BORGIR, has sold over 1,400 copies in the U.S. since its October 14th release, debuting at no. 5 on the Nielsen SoundScan "Top DVD Music Videos" chart. The top four artists on the chart are (in order): AC/DC, ZZ Top, Eagles, and John Mayer.

The Invaluable Darkness has also entered the Music DVD chart in the band's home country at position No. 1.

Indie Distrubution, which distributes DIMMU BORGIR releases in Norway, told Norway's music industry magazine Faro Journalen that it felt pretty comfortable that the DVD would reach the top of the chart.

"Yes, we expected it," Espen Solheim Røhne, sales manager at Indie Distribution, admitted. "There are few bands out there that have the same following in Norway as DIMMU BORGIR, and their fans are always early in the shops to buy their product."
Røhne told Faro Journalen that the company shipped 2,500 copies of the DVD sets to Norwegian retailers. "We hope to reach 5,000 by Christmas," he said.
This marks the second time DIMMU BORGIR has landed at No. 1 in Norway. The band's most recent album, In Sorte Diaboli, topped the chart upon its release in 2007.




Checking in from Danzig's Blackest Of The Black tour is DIMMU BORGIR guitarist Silenoz:

"Everything's going well. We're happy with the tour, and to get this news… [pause]… It's cool that the fans appreciate that we came out with this DVD now. It seems that this was what they wanted and we gave it to them. We're selling an autographed version of the DVD on tour, so anyone who wants one should come out!"

Norwegian symphonic black metallers DIMMU BORGIR took a break from the recent Blackest Of The Black tour to perform two songs at the Fuel TV studios in Los Angeles. Hosted by Pat Parnell and featuring guest appearances by Bam Margera and Brandon Novak, "The Daily Habit" episode featuring DIMMU BORGIR will air on Tuesday, November 25.
DIMMU BORGIR has been on tour in support of its recent The Invaluable Darkness (2DVD+CD), which debuted at no. 5 on the Nielsen SoundScan Top Music Videos chart in mid-October. This will be the band's last North American tour in support of its eighth studio album, In Sorte Diaboli, which debuted on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart at no. 2, on The Billboard 200 at no. 43, and has sold over 66,000 copies in the U.S.
"The Daily Habit" is Fuel TV's first original daily series, telecast weeknights at 9:00 p.m. Eastern (6:00 p.m. Pacific) while re-airing later in the evening at 12:00 a.m Eastern (9:00 PM Pacific), and the following weekday at 2:30 p.m. Eastern (11:30 a.m. Pacific) and 5:30 p.m. Eastern (2:30 p.m. Pacific).

Metal-Rules.com recently conducted an interview with guitarist Silenoz of Norwegian symphonic black metallers DIMMU BORGIR. An excerpt from the chat follows below.



Metal-Rules.com: Speaking of a follow-up to In Sorte Diaboli I have to ask you; will you once again utilize Hellhammer [MAYHEM] as a session drummer?
Silenoz: "I mean, we keep all doors open but right now we have such a good chemistry, both personally and musically, with [current touring drummer] Darek [Dariusz 'Daray' Brzozowski], who played with VADER. It would sure surprise me a lot if he's not playing on the new album. He's doing such a great job and he fits really, really well into the musical wide range style of DIMMU BORGIR. I would probably say that he will be the one that will play on the next album. It would surprise me a lot if he wouldn't."
Metal-Rules.com: You've always been very fortunate to have some of metal's most talented drummers at your disposal; how would you rank Darek against the others?
Silenoz: "I would say that he is the most steady and consistent drummer I've ever played with, no matter what. He's extremely reliable, hard-working, determined and he really, really pushes himself, you know? Even if he plays a really killer show and the rest of us have nothing to complain about, he still is not happy. It's not good enough. That's the attitude we need, you know? After all, the drummer is the engine in the band and you won't get anywhere if you only have oil and gas…you need the engine to work too…so… he's awesome."
