Petition To Get AC/DC To Play In Peoria

Hungry for hardcore rock and roll, more than a hundred area residents rallied Saturday to get AC/DC to play in Peoria. The plan is to put a video together showcasing the crazy rock fans from the area while holding a mock concert.

AC/DC played a raucous concert at the Civic Center 25 years ago.

Fans also signed a petition, held signs, and even dressed up like lead guitarist Angus Young for the video.
"I've been listening to AC/DC since 1970-something back in high school and I just think it's an awesome idea to bring them back to Peoria," Gene Pflederer says.

"We want some real rock 'n' roll back in Peoria... and some bagpipes!," Tom Conway says.

Mayor Jim Ardis even sported his AC/DC memorabilia at the event. Rock 105.7 the X is sending the video to AC/DC, so they'll hopefully add Peoria to their tour schedule this fall.
