| JAG PANZER Guitarist Explains Nightmare Metal Fest Cancellation Mark Briody, the long running leader of Colorado based metallers JAG PANZER offered BW&BK this exclusive update on his seemingly dormant outfit, including an explanation of their cancellation at this year's Nightmare Metal Fest. "We aren't doing that Texas show," says Briody. "It sounded like fun, but we just couldn't get everything worked out. Lance (King, Nightmare label president) is a good guy. I would have liked to do the show. Maybe next time. We are playing in Italy at the end of February (Play It Loud festival on the 28th) and we're playing the Rock Hard Fest (in Germany, May 29-31) also. Christian (Lesague, guitarist from CHAIN OF COMMAND) is back on board full time. He's a Randy Rhoads / Adrian Vandenberg type player, so he definitely brings a different element to the band. We've got about 1/3 of the new album written (tentatively entitled The Scourge Of Light). We wrapped our contract with Century Media. I had a good time with them, but I think it's time to go elsewhere. Ideally we'd like to sign a new deal for Europe only, then license the album ourselves to other countries." The 2009 Nightmare Metal Fest is being held this year in San Antonio, Texas on Friday, March 20th and Saturday, March 21st. The finalized line-up is as follows: VICIOUS RUMORS, SEVEN WITCHES, KRUCIBLE, ASKA, IMAGIKA, THEOCRACY, SACRED DAWN, SIX MINUTE CENTURY, LUNARIUM, HALCYON WAY, MINDWARP CHAMBER, ONE OF SIX and AETHERIUS. | |
