QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS Moving Ahead With New Music; Another Tour Possible

Launch Radio Networks has issued the following report from Bruce Simon:

If all goes well, QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS will grace us with new music on tour next summer. The group has been in the studio this year, and Queen guitarist Brian May told Britain's Sky News, "The tracks seems to be coming out very well, so we'll have to think about whether this is an entire album, or whether it's just a few tracks, and there's a possibility we'll go out on tour next summer as well. We're thinking about that."

May didn't say when tourdates might be announced, nor did he say when they might release the new material.

Rodgers first hooked up with May at the 50th anniversary concert for the Fender Stratocaster guitar in London in September 2004, where May backed Rodgers on the Free song 'All Right Now'.

Both men felt an instant chemistry, and it was confirmed a few weeks later when Queen was inducted into the U.K. Music Hall Of Fame. At that event, Rodgers joined May and drummer Roger Taylor for versions of 'All Right Now' and Queen's 'We Will Rock You', and things went so well that everyone decided to take the relationship forward.

The group, which played both Queen songs and material from Rodgers's days with FREE and BAD COMPANY, did two shows in the US in the fall of 2005, before mounting a proper North American tour earlier this year.

QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS Recording Sessions Went Well

Launch Radio Networks has issued the following report from Bruce Simon:

The members of QUEEN are really happy with the new material they recently recorded with PAUL RODGERS.

Guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor were interviewed on the CBC TV show The Hour, which airs weeknights across Canada, and host George Stroumboulopoulos asked them how work was progressing on a new album.

May said, "We went in the studio... to see what happens, 'cause we've already tested it pretty good on stage, and that works great... And we went in almost unprepared... and came up with some tracks, which I think are really great. They're very different, they're very unlike anything that we've done, or anything that Paul's done."

Taylor added that the sessions "went spectacularly well."

May also said, "It's gonna be good, 'cause next time we go out (on tour), we won't just be nostalgia, we will be 'This is what we are.'"

Neither May nor Taylor said when a new album might be released, or when a tour might begin.

New QUEEN/PAUL RODGERS Single Salutes AIDS Day

QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS T78620 According to Jonathan Cohen from Billboard.com, QUEEN/PAUL RODGERS

have recorded a new single, 'Say It's Not True', to commemorate World AIDS Day on Saturday (December 1). The track, Queen's first studio collaboration with Rodgers, will be available as a free download from the band's website.

In recent years, Queen reactivated with Rodgers replacing the late Freddie Mercury, who died of AIDS complications in 1991.

"By making the song available for free, we hope to help Nelson Mandela with his campaign to get across the message that no one is safe from infection," drummer Roger Taylor said in a statement. "We have to be aware, we have to protect ourselves and those we love."

The last new recording under the Queen name was 'No-One But You', which appeared on a 1998 Mercury tribute. Rodgers recently told Billboard.com he and the band are at work on a new album, due next year.

"With any band there's two sides - there's the image and there's the music," he said. "I don't feel that I stepped into the image of Queen, although I wouldn't know that. But I really stepped into the music. It's safe to say we're quietly excited about what we're doing."
