Report: ALICE COOPER, DEEP PURPLE, DANZIG - Guitar Hero 2 Rocks Xbox 360 With New Songs
Cinema Blend has issued the following report from Andrew Groen
We’ve known for a while now that the nearly ubiquitous party favorite Guitar Hero 2 will be making its way to the Xbox 360. What we didn’t know were things like: will there be orginal content or will it be a straight port? When will it release? And most importantly: why the hell isn’t the controller wireless!?
Good News! Since you’ve been such a good little gamer, your patience has paid off! We now know the truth surrounding Guitar Hero 2 on 360.
The game will release this March with the brand new X-plorer style guitar designed specifically for release on 360 (Though, unfortunately, there will be wires involved.) The graphics will also see improvements over its PS2 counterpart, presumabley just to keep the game from looking vomit worthy in HD. Still to me that seems like a waste of time and resources because who honestly gives a crap about the graphics in a Guitar Hero game?
The best news my friends, is what I’ve saved for last. The next gen version of GH2 will feature all new tracks, as well as support downloadable content. Downloadable content and Guitar Hero are a match made in Heaven and if you ask me, Red Octane is going to make a fortune off this. 1up.com recently unearthed some of those new tracks during a play through of a demo.
The tracks include: 'Possum Kingdom' by THE TOADIES, 'Life Wasted' by PEARL JAM, 'Billion Dollar Babies' by ALICE COOPER, 'Hush' by DEEP PURPLE, 'Rock And Roll Hoochie Koo' by RICK DERRINGER, 'Dead' by MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, and 'Mother' by DANZIG.
Again, expect to see Guitar Hero 2 for the Xbox 360 on store shelves in March. No word yet on official pricing for the game and its hefty controller but I’d wager it’ll be similar to the original at $79.99 for game and guitar.
