MEGADETH's Dave Mustaine To Host MTV2 Headbanger's Ball Gears Of War Special This Saturday

"Headbanger's Ball goes full throttle on the much anticipated Gears of War.

Hosted by MEGADETH's Dave Mustaine and shot on location at Six Flags in Connecticut where gamers gather for a chance to sample video gaming's next big title.

Viewers will also get to see an exclusive performance from Megadeth of 'Gears Of War', a brand new track off their upcoming album."

MEGADETH Mainman To Host Gears Of War Special Tonight On Headbanger's Ball

MEGADETH leader Dave Mustaine will be hosting tonight's edition of Headbanger's Ball which airs at 10 PM EST. The show will be a Gears Of War special, in which the focus will be on the recently released XBox 360 Game, Gears Of War that inspired aspects of the song, and that sponsored this year’s Gigantour. You can watch 'Gears Of War' live from the 6 Flags, Springfield, Massachusetts (recorded on Halloween) at the MTV Overdrive website now. Click here to access the video. The song, 'Gears Of War' is scheduled to appear on the upcoming United Abominations release through Roadrunner Records. The release date is expected to be in the 3rd week of March 2007.

MEGADETH Putting "Finishing Touches" On New Album In California Studio

MEGADETH have issued the following update:

"Megadeth is back in the studio this month in California, adding the finishing touches to their forthcoming album, United Abominations, set to be released March of 2007 (Roadrunner Records).

Stay tuned for more updates as they become available!"

As reported earlier, MTV.com has made the band's new track, 'Gears Of War', available for download at this location. The download will be available until December 18th.

'Gears Of War' will appear on United Abominations. Fans can check out a live video of the band performing 'Gears Of War' at their official MySpace page.

The footage was originally shot by MTV for a Headbanger's Ball special that focused on the recently released XBox 360 Game, Gears Of War. The game reportedly inspired aspects of the song.

MEGADETH Guitarist Glen Drover - "Lots Of Crazy Solos On This Album People!"

MEGADETH guitarist Glen Drover has posted the following message in the Forums section of the band's official website:

"As I write this letter to you, Dave (Mustaine) is recording some of the vocals for the new album and he is sounding great! We are all having a great time here finishing up the tracks for this album here in California and the weather is awesome! As for myself, I have done a few solo pieces, which I am very happy with. Lots of crazy solos on this album people!"

As previously reported, the new track 'Gears Of War' is available for download here. The track is from the band's upcoming album, United Abominations, due out in March 2007 via Roadrunner Records.

MEGADETH - New 'Gears Of War' Track Streaming At Brave Tunes

The new MEGADETH track 'Gears Of War' is currently streaming on Brave Tunes - see left hand side of BraveWords.com and press PLAY! The track is from the band's upcoming album, United Abominations, due out in March 2007 via Roadrunner Records. Guitarist Glen Drover commented in a recent online update that "the album is very close to completion." The band are currently putting the finishing touches to United Abominations at an undisclosed Los Angeles studio.
