| SYMPHONY X Issue Studio Update; Revealed Cover Art Has NOT Been Finalized It was reported on Monday (August 21st) that the graphic to the left is the cover art for the forthcoming SYMPHONY X album, Paradise Lost. The following update has been posted at the band's official website: "It would appear that one of the early drafts of the CD cover has been leaked to at least one website; the band hasn't had a chance to okay any final artwork, so what you see floating around out there is NOT the final CD cover art. Jason (Rullo/drums) is done recording his parts, and the rhythm tracks and other guitar parts should be done by next week. The band's aiming to have the music ready for mixing by mid September; Michael Romeo (guitars) says that things are moving right along, and kept our conversation short so that he could get back to it." | |

| SYMPHONY X: New Album Pushed Back To 2007 - Progressive metal act SYMPHONY X is continuing work on its follow-up to 2002's "The Odyssey", entitled "Paradise Lost", tentatively due in early 2007. The following message has been issued by the group's official webmaster:
"Just spoke to [guitarist Michael James Romeo and] here's the latest:
"It seems that this is doomed to be the 'Murphy's law' CD, where anything that could go wrong, will/has gone wrong. Due to technical problems, first with the studio computers, and then with the failure and subsequent replacement/installation of somewhat-hard-to-find parts in Michael James Romeo's amps, the band's about two weeks behind where they'd hoped to be progress-wise at this point. This has thrown off the projected date for getting the CD out and mixed, so they've had to push back the date for that by about a month in accordance with what dates were available to them.
"Currently Michael James Romeo is getting his guitar parts finished, and after that Mike LePond will finish up his bass parts, and then Russ [Allen] will enter the studio to work on recording the vocals.
"Mike asked me to extend the band's appreciation to the fans for their patience, and at this point, is anticipating a release date after the New Year; I have no doubt that it will be well worth the wait."
SYMPHONY X was recently forced to cancel a couple of European festival appearances after bassist Michael LePond was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease (an inflammatory bowel disorder). He has since underegone surgery and has been released from the hospital.
SYMPHONY X was one of the second-stage bands at last summer's Gigantour, a six-week festival trek co-headlined by MEGADETH and DREAM THEATER. "Rarities and Demos", the first fan club CD from the SYMPHONY X fan club, Church of the Machine, was shipped out in July 2005 to fan club members. The CD included demo material, rare unreleased material, and guitarist Michael James Romeo's interpretation of the "Star Wars" theme, done with over 15 guitar tracks.

| SYMPHONY X To Begin Mixing Paradise Lost Next Month
New Jersey progressive metallers SYMPHONY X, who are working on their new album, Paradise Lost, have had their website updated with the following update from their webmaster:
"Spoke to both MJR (Michael James Romeo, guitar) and Russ (Allen, singer) for a while today, and things are moving right along! MJR is finishing up a few solos and tightening up some of the orchestral/choral parts, and the CD will be sent off to be mixed in early March.
Jens Bogren (Fascination Street Studios) will be doing the honors, and the mixing should be done by the end of March. A potential release date as well as other info like the tracklisting and such will be available once the CD is mixed, so stay tuned for more info on that.
That's it for now, more info as it becomes available!"
As previously reported, Symphony X have confirmed a show in their own backyard, May 25th at BB Kings, in Manhattan, NY. This goes alongside their scheduled appearance at Italy's God's Of Metal festival (June 3rd).

| SYMPHONY X Frontman To Guest On Next Week's The Classic Metal ShowThe Classic Metal Show, heard live weekly on Saturdays from 9 PM - 3 AM (EST) at www.theclassicmetalshow.com , have issued the following update regarding their upcoming June 30th show: "It will be a very 'progressive' edition of The Classic Metal Show this week. Up first, the band that a lot of people consider to be the latest and greatest upstart prog-band in the world, SYMPHONY X. Even though they've been around for more than a decade, people are still discovering them right now. They are back with their most "metal" oriented album called Paradise Lost. True to form, guitarist Michael Romeo soars on this one, while vocalist Russell Allen angrily brings the message home. We'll do a New Music Listening Party for Paradise Lost, and vocalist Russell Allen will check in with the show once again to discuss the new album, his remarkable solo album, and to Symphony X always being compared to DREAM THEATER. Speaking of Dream Theater, they will make a return visit to The Classic Metal Show with their brand new album, Systematic Chaos. While few bands can find a way to take 80 minutes of music and turn that into a mere eight songs, Dream Theater have mastered this art once again on Systematic Chaos. Hard, heavy and one of the more solid efforts the band has ever done, The Classic Metal Show is more than happy to do a New Music Listening Party for the latest from Dream Theater." | |

| SYMPHONY X Invite Fans To Choose Setlist For Upcoming Tour The SYMPHONY X camp has issued the following update: "There have been rumblings here and there about the band's tour setlist and how it needs some changes. We did a setlist poll a few years ago, and I spoke with MJR about it recently and he agreed that it was time to do another one. So here's your chance to let the band know what you want to see them play on tour! Here's how it goes. You reply here (leave your comment here in the blog...comments left on the band's main page won't be counted) and tell me what songs you would like to hear the band play on their upcoming tours. Give me 90 minutes worth of material (no, the band is not necessarily playing a 90 minute set, that's just a random number I'm choosing). You can pick particular songs, or just say that you'd like to hear anything from a certain CD, or a mix of both. I'll leave this open until midnight (US Pacific time) on Sunday night (January 20th). On Monday, I'll compile the results and send them to the band, and post them for you guys as well. The last time we did this, MJR was surprised at some of the songs you all wanted to see them perform live and took the suggestions under consideration. He says they'll do so as well this time, so make sure you let them know what you want to hear. Looking forward to seeing what you all have to say!" Jax SymX Staff | |
