| ALICE COOPER Top "Classic Rock Golfer" In New Survey
Launch Radio Networks has issued the following report from Bruce Simon:
ALICE COOPER has been named the top classic rock golfer in a new survey in Golf Digest. The magazine ranked the musicians who are the best players, and Cooper came in at Number 11 on the list, in a tie with British singer-songwriter LLOYD COLE. YES drummer Alan White scored a Number 14 placement, while the Top 40 also included DOORS guitarist Robby Krieger, MOODY BLUES bassist John Lodge, and former EAGLES guitarist Don Felder. Jazz saxophonist KENNY G is Number One on the "Top 100 In Music" list.
Cooper told us that golf is so popular among his peers because it helps musicians get going while on the road: "It gets you out of the hotel rooms when you're on long tours. It's something to look forward to. You do the show. The next morning, what are you gonna do? Sit in the hotel room all day? No, you get to go out and hit the golf ball around. But it's certainly nothing that I would... I would never give up rock-and-roll for golf."
Also on the Golf Digest "Top 100 In Music" list, which hits newsstands on Tuesday (November 7th), are these folks, who apparently need to improve their game -- ex-PINK FLOYD singer-bassist Roger Waters, Eagles singer-guitarist Glenn Frey, STEPHEN STILLS, BOB DYLAN, STEVE MILLER, EDDIE VAN HALEN, NEIL YOUNG, THE TUBES leader Fee Waybill, MEAT LOAF, EDDIE MONEY, and singer-guitarist Robin Zander from CHEAP TRICK, among others. AEROSMITH frontman Steven Tyler had a very low placement, but he's listed as being new to the game.

| ALICE COOPER - "THE ROLLING STONES Are The Ultimate Garage Band" The following report is courtesy of Chris Hansen Orf from Eastvalleytribune.com More than three decades into his enormously successful rock career, the Valley’s own ALICE COOPER is still reaching goals he set long ago. “Get a star on Hollywood Boulevard, have a platinum album, go to No. 1 and open for THE ROLLING STONES,” Cooper says by phone from a Connecticut stop on his tour after a round of golf in which the scratch player shot a 75. Cooper has his star in Hollywood, has hit No. 1 on the album charts and has gone platinum several times over. On Sept. 23 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Cooper got to open for The Rolling Stones, and he’ll do it again Wednesday when The Stones play University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ. “It’s one of the things I get to scratch off my list,” Cooper laughs. Like millions of others, Cooper is a die-hard Stones fan and, in a roundabout way, it was The Rolling Stones that got a track star at Phoenix’s Cortez High School named Vince Furnier and his teammates to form a band called The Spiders. “In those days you didn’t play original material,” Cooper explains of the Valley music scene in 1966. “So we were the Rolling Stones band and it would say, ‘Tonight at the V.I.P., THE SPIDERS will be doing “19th Nervous Breakdown.” ’ That’s all we did. We were expected to do Rolling Stones just like the record and, honestly, that’s why people came. Everybody was doing BEATLES, so we were the band that ventured out and started playing the Stones.” And when The Spiders undertook the task of writing their own material, the Stones’ music was a touchstone for the young band that would later change its name to Alice Cooper (when the group split in 1974, Furnier legally changed his own name to Alice Cooper). “The Stones are so good — they are the prototype garage band,” Cooper says. “And I say that in all great respect because AEROSMITH is a garage band, Alice Cooper is a garage band and The Rolling Stones are a garage band, but they are the ultimate garage band. You take their band and you could put them in 70,000-seat (arenas) or you could put them in a club, and it’s still the same music and it still works.” Cooper, who will begin recording his 29th album in January to be followed by another world tour — he has done five global treks in the last five years — after the disc is released in April, is still influenced by The Stones. “To this day,” Cooper says. “On my last album (2005’s ‘Dirty Diamonds’) we did two songs — ‘Sunset Babies (All Got Rabies)’ and ‘Zombie Dance’ — that were absolute, pure Rolling Stones.” To read the entire interview head to this location. http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/index.php?sty=78379 | |

| ALICE COOPER Puts 2005 Mustang GT Up For Auction The following report is courtesy of Edmunds.com: ALICE COOPER has put his personal 2005 supercharged Ford Mustang GT up for sale on eBay. An independent assessor describes it in glowing terms. 'This used auto has been babied — not a door ding,' is the official word. The Mustang GT comes in black, with cherry-red racing stripes that match the redwall tires. The 4.6-liter V8 pumps out 535 horsepower, thanks to custom touches including a Paxton supercharger with an intercooler fed from a Classic Design Concepts Shaker system. Other features include a Billy Boat exhaust system. Total investment in the vehicle is estimated at $50,000. As you might expect from a rocker who stirred controversy for the "chicken incident" at a concert, the interior is tricked out with blood-red seats and door inserts. The eBay site reports that Cooper "is selling this and will be building an Eleanor to replace it." As of Monday morning, this auction had received two bids, including one for $34,500. What this means to you: it's not your average Mustang. For info and to bid head here. http://www.mustangblog.com/index.php/2006/ebay-2005-mustang-gt-owned-by-alice-cooper/ | |

| ALICE COOPER Bassist Dennis Dunaway In STRIPSHOWALICE COOPER site SickThingsUK has issued the following in regards to bassist Dennis Dunaway: Alice Cooper fans maybe aware that the Icelandic members of the MICHAEL BRUCE GROUP featured on Halo Of Ice and The Second Coming have released a CD of original material with their own band DIMMA. Dimma opened for Alice last year in Iceland and Dennis Dunaway has played with the band both live and on an upcoming album to be released in the spring of 2007. Fewer may know that before Dimma and the Michael Bruce Group, Silli, Bjarki and Ingo were members of the Icelandic rock band STRIPSHOW and released one album, Late Nite Cult Show, in 1996. The album featured an original rock opera telling the story of a Freakshow in which the deprived "freak" slaves ultimately conquer their dictator and master of ceremonies. The album was released in Japan and South Korea where it was subsequently banned from all radio and TV play for "immoral" lyrics!! Needless to say this brought Stripshow a certain notoriety in the music magazines in South Korea. Since the bands break up, Late Nite Cult Show has long since sold out everywhere and the album's been virtually impossible to find for years. Until now! To celebrate the albums's 10th Anniversary, it has now been reissued in a "Special Edition Xtravaganza" of only 999 copies. Completely re-mastered from the original master tapes the CD features the banned video for 'Where Are We Now?' and bonus tracks including the new 'Here Comes The Spider' which was recorded by the original members of Stripshow last September with none other than Dennis Dunaway on bass! The special edition includes a 12 page full color booklet with all lyrics, band photo and liner notes (all in English) and comes in a jewel case with a special deluxe slip case. It's now available to order directly from the band for $20.00 (including shipping). They are also offering the following package deals: 2 CD Package: Stripshow - Late Nite Cult Show The Second Coming Of Michael Bruce Price: $35.00 (incl. Shipping). 4 CD Package: Stripshow - Late Nite Cult Show Dimma - Dimma (debut album - now sold out in stores!) The Second Coming Of Michael Bruce Michael Bruce - Halo Of Ice Price $50.00 (incl. Shipping) All orders Payable via Paypal to: igeirdal@btnet.is where you can also get further info if needed | |

| Launch Radio Networks reports: Alice Cooper's sixth annual charity concert takes place this Saturday (December 16) in Phoenix, to benefit Cooper's Solid Rock Foundation, which helps young people deal with situations including gangs, drugs, and guns. The show, called the Christmas Pudding concert, will feature Cooper performing with members of the original ALICE COOPER band, Stephen Stills, former EAGLES guitarist Don Felder, and STYX singer-guitarist Tommy Shaw and NIGHT RANGER singer-bassist Jack Blades with their SHAW BLADES project. Also appearing will be "American Idol" contestant Ace Young with his band.
As far as the eclectic mix of performers, Cooper says it's deliberate: "Every year I try to get different people," he said. "This year, (it's) Stephen Stills, who's never been there before. I've got the original band, ALICE COOPER original band — minus (guitarist) Glen (Buxton), of course, even though he'll probably be there; Jack Blades and Tommy Shaw; guys from TESLA; Jonathan Cain from JOURNEY; Roger Clyne & the PEACEMAKERS, great band; and F5, which is a little piece of MEGADETH's band. It'll be a five-hour show, at least. We always want it to be three-and-a-half, it always ends up being five."

| ALICE COOPER Saves Christmas For Ailing Chicago BoyThe following report is courtesy of Shamus Toomey from SunTimes.com: ALICE COOPER saved Christmas for 12-year-old Carlos "CJ" Cardenas. Well, Alice Cooper and a team of surgeons at Rush University Medical Center. CJ, a sixth-grader from Lake Villa, was feeling pretty down last week as he lay in a hospital bed, recovering from surgeries to remove a terribly painful and aggressive tumor in his mouth. Then came a package in the mail from an unlikely hero for a preteen - 58-year-old rocker Alice Cooper. The Detroit native had gotten word about CJ's plight and autographed a blue Fender Squire electric guitar for him. "C.J., You Rock! Alice Cooper," the silver-inked message reads. Cooper had already been CJ's favorite musician - he has a closet full of Cooper T-shirts and a room full of Cooper videos, CDs and posters. CJ even put on Cooper's trademark face paint for a summer concert in Waukegan. His fascination with Cooper - and also with the band Kiss - somewhat perplexes his 45-year-old mom, as both bands' heydays were in line with her generation - not CJ's. But CJ knows what he likes. So his mom's boss helped get word to Cooper about the boy's condition. And the rock star came through. Knowing that his hero cared about him turned out to be the perfect medicine for CJ. "He was so depressed at that point because he had been here [at the hospital] so long," said his mother, Marla Belson. "But, after he got this, it was like someone blew life back into him. "I had felt like I couldn't get through to him anymore because he was so depressed. After he got this, it was almost as if there was nothing else in the world that could have done this for his spirits. It changed his whole game plan. He became proactive at that point. I think it played a huge part in him being home for Christmas." CJ's troubles sprang up quickly. His tumor was diagnosed not long after Thanksgiving, and he was in the hospital Dec. 11 for surgery. But recovery was slow. Then came the guitar. "I was happy," CJ said while sitting in his hospital bed before being released Friday, a feeding tube in his nose and the guitar in his hands, "because nothing like this has ever happened." Happy? That's an understatement, his family says. "His eyes popped out of his head," said his stepdad, Dave Belson. "He was a different kid within a split second."
